Re: TCM Premieres....
THE MURDER OF MARY PHAGAN is excellent. I saw it when it first aired in 1988. Highly recommend. The Leo Frank trial and his lynching were also the subject of the musical PARADE, which was revived on Broadway last year with Ben Platt as Leo Frank. Thank you for this information! I had no idea.

Blacklisting is brought up in a lot of TCM intros by all the hosts but mainly Ben Mankiewicz, for better or worse. I will leave it at that.
Check out A MAJORITY OF ONE this Thursday. Roz I think does a valiant job.

Thompson, I've never heard of The American Drunkard so unfortunately cannot speak to your experiences there.
If you happen to be a Rosalind Russell fan you might enjoy A MAJORITY OF ONE.

cmovieviewer, cinemainternational, Swithin, Bronxgirl and KayFrancis all give, Majority of One thumbs up! There's an episode of BEWITCHED from the fourth season where a Japanese businessman (a client that McMann & Tate is trying to land) falls for Aunt Clara, who's on the outs with her warlock ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
For Thursday's (May 30th) viewing pleasure may I suggest the politically incorrect but entertaining A MAJORITY OF ONE with Roz Russell as a Jewish Brooklyn widow who forms a cautious relationship with Japanese widower and businessman Alec Guinness. To add insult to injury there is (if I'm rememberin...

Snapped Woman opens her door to a person dressed as a clown who shoots her (fatally) in the face. Victim's son tells police he saw shooter running away in a pair of combat boots. Later a detective tells us "The murderer was cunning, knowing a quick escape was necessary, he didn't wear those gi...

Today's Curses Tuesday is my jam. The Wheeler & Woolsey MUMMY'S BOYS is a real stinkeroo, their worst. DEATH CURSE OF TARTU -- don't even bother, unless you're a John Ford completist. Yes, you read that correctly. Let me explain. The following will make it seem as if I am being immodest/tooting ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Yes, Andree, I could see men falling for Baxley. Warren Beatty was horrendous to women in ALL FALL DOWN but I was always particularly upset at his treatment of Barbara. Dudley! (I was always quite fond of Dudley Do-Right as well) I'll bet Cary would have been content to just be in the background on ...

Fonda is a Sagittarius Sun. (Moon in Leo, Capricorn Rising)
My favorite performance of Jane's is BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. Great supporting cast -- Robert Redford (at ease in comedy), Charles Boyer and Mildred Natwick.
Shama-Shama!

That's a good one! A lot of these films (Including PLAN 9) could indeed go in the Bad Movies We Love thread, lol.
Not to mention the great ROBOT MONSTER (on YouTube!)

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Yep, Holden, that scene was included and has been at least for the times that TCM has aired MARTY. It was always cut decades ago whenever I'd watch this movie on television back in the day and can almost understand why -- Clara's monologue to her parents seems awkward, out of place -- in fact doesn...
