Re: RITA HAYWORTH - The Love Goddess
Is every picture you post here one that you've purchased? If so, you must have a stunning collection. How do you display them? Do you have a "Rita room" with a lot of them framed on the walls?

Re: *CANDIDS*
Shocking how young Judy Garland was when she died. I guess being that she starred in a movie in the 30s, I always imagined her as "old" when she passed; not as in old aged, but at least in her 50s or 60s. I was born in 1969, and everything that happened before I was born is thought of as a...

Re: RITA HAYWORTH - The Love Goddess
Yet I feel that those who look in on the thread may enjoy just looking at the pictures as I'm sure they do with your Rita Hayworth thread, as I do. This would be me; I don't have a lot to say other than to repeat variations of "lovely" and "stunning", so I just look at the pictu...

Re: RITA HAYWORTH - The Love Goddess
I will be traveling by myself and enjoying the sights and sounds of Hollywood of Yesteryears. One of the Hairdressers - will be joining me and she will be my guide. So, we will be doing this about 4-5 hours a day - every other day for two weeks. This would be fascinating to me. It's also the only w...

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
Nick, thank you for posting these obituaries. The story of Maxine Stuart certainly gives us a window into the life of an aspiring actress of the time. Thanks. I'm working on a project that will try to bring more attention to all living actors/actresses that weren't super famous. I found out about t...

Re: Mary Pickford Film Discovered!
Amazing to think such a find could survive in an environment like that when we have acetates of classic films decaying in studio vaults where they are "protected".

Re: The Lone Ranger
Most US TV big 4 network shows are still around 22-26 episodes per season. I actually prefer the shorter format for shows like Dexter, Sherlock, and Burn Notice, to cherry pick a few I enjoy. It lets the creators tell their best stories without any filler or losing all sense of direction (like Lost)...

Re: The Lone Ranger
I thought it was disgraceful when the studio or whoever it was insisted he stop wearing the mask, but I realize now it was probably in preparation for this new version. While I agree it was disgraceful, they made him stop in the 80s when they last attempted a remake of the Lone Ranger, which was al...

Re: The Lone Ranger
On the day Johnny Depp's Lone Ranger came out I watched the original Clayton Moore Lone Ranger film on YouTube instead. It held up very well for me. The Lone Ranger was one of my heroes growing up, and I was irritated to see the new film was going to be self parody and mock the entire concept. I won...

Re: CARY GRANT
Maven! I thought I was the only one who tended to avoid Robert Downey, Jr. and especially Johnny Depp. Depp seems to adore his own cleverness so much that an audience (this one, anyway) is unnecessary. Cary Grant knew how to let us adore him. Depp is self-parody at this point. He's been playing the...
