Re: jean arthur - any other fans?

Re: CANDIDS II
I was walking back to Stage 15 at MGM
from the commissary one day and a couple of fellows on the other side of the street said, "Hi Vera!"
What a nice compliment!

Re: CANDIDS II
I certainly was a fan of Eve ARden. She, to me, added greatly to any picture she was in. I loved her in Mildred Pierce. Thanks for posting.

Re: CANDIDS II
Ah-ha Great instructions! Here is Johnny holding horse. I am the one in the cowboy boots of course. What fun those days were at the Riviera Country Club. My father was under contract to Walter Wanger to play polo and eventually managed the club when it became the Beverly Hills Polo Club. Many of the...

Re: What recent films have you seen?
I so enjoyed Mildred Pierce. Actually the only film I have liked Joan Crawford in. But I finally bought it!

Re: CANDIDS II
It always amazes me. While I was working on The King and Four Queens with Clark Gable - I was sitting on a horse waiting to work when I overheard Clark Gable say to his friend as he nodded towards me, "who does she remind you of - yep Ginny." Then I had the same dentist as Nancy Reagan and...

Re: Sheree North
I remember the first and only time I met Sheree North. I had already been to make-up and was in 'hair' being readied to double Debra Paget in Love Me Tender. Sheree came in to get ready for a screen test. She absolutely charmed the whole department. She had a magnetic personality and was totally una...

I love the serious picture of Whit Bissell. I worked with him in Dakota Incident and traveled to and from location with him. He was Soooo nice and had a really cute sense of humor. So fun to know him a bit.

Re: CANDIDS II
I worked with many of the top glamor ladies of our time. Most were beautiful. But in person, not in films, the most beautiful of all was Linda Darnell.
I found myself staring at her often - it was a beauty I had never seen before. I am sure a lot of it was an inner beauty coming forth. RIP dear one.
