Re: Theater
Apparently, there's a Broadway revival of Gypsy in the works with Audra McDonald as Madame Rose. Here's Mickey Jo Boucher discussing it in a video from his YouTube channel Mickey Jo Theatre. At the beginning he talks the history of the Athur Laurents/Jule Styne/Stephen Sondheim musical and its vari...

I'll agree with Holden. I think Zac has had work done. If he keeps pumping so much iron, he may need breast reduction, too. Man, that trailer seemed long and I didn't even make it all the way through. His body was super hot in BAYWATCH. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9d/b0/a7/9db0a70944f212c3f45670...

Re: AFI's 25 GREATEST MOVIE MUSICALS OF ALL TIME
The last four are hard to justify and Chicago is not a great musical. Fantasia , in my view, is the indispensable Disney musical. Aladdin, Pinocchio , even Alice in Wonderland are better choices than Beauty and the Beast . Concert movies deserve to be on the list ( Stop Making Sense, The Last Waltz...

Re: BREE DANIELS: SCORPIO RISING?
Jane White's performance as the "madam" Janie Dale in KLUTE is one of those examples of a great actor giving their all to bring a small role fully to life. It's not surprising that most of her work was in the theater. The scene with Janie Dale (part of the sequence where John Klute and Bre...

Okay, It's obvious that Nicole Kidman has had "work done" on her face, but I swear watching this trailer from the upcoming A FAMILY AFFAIR it looks like Zac Efron has also had some cosmetic surgery. He's only on his mid-30s!

Re: May Criterion Channel line-up
Thanks, Marysara. Criterion Channel has also added a new collection in June called "Ensemble Casts" that includes THE BIRDCAGE (Yay!) , DAZED AND CONFUSED and NOISES OFF. Also included is CAN'T HARDLY WAIT, which I haven't seen since it was released in 1998. I remember liking it when I saw...

Re: TCM Premieres....
Thank you for this information! I had no idea. Here's a clip of Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond (who played Leo Frank's wife Lucille) performing "This Is Not Over Yet" from PARADE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5jYTKz0NN0 This was an excellent production, and I'm glad I saw it. I do find...

Re: TCM Premieres....
THE MURDER OF MARY PHAGAN is excellent. I saw it when it first aired in 1988. Highly recommend. The Leo Frank trial and his lynching were also the subject of the musical PARADE, which was revived on Broadway last year with Ben Platt as Leo Frank. Thank you for this information! I had no idea. Here'...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
I suspect this interruption was a result of our Grand Pubah cleaning up the thread from the Troll’s wake. This made me laugh (cackle) so loud that I I think my bird thought I had lost my mind. I would have loved for some of the creeps from the old TCM message board to have logged in and received a ...

I know a lot of people don't like it, but I really enjoy THE SANDPIPER.
Elizabeth Taylor is so beautiful in that movie.
