Funny how "The Iceman Cometh" sounds like an episode from "Batman."

Re: I Just Watched...

That's Great American Family. It's crazy how many ads they have during murder She Wrote as well. it's also crazy how SERIOUSLY they take CHRISTMAS MOVIES, in (checks calendar) MAY. (like, they don't even have the CHRISTMAS IN JULY "excuse") As if Hallmark wasn't bad enough.... Great Ameri...

Re: For Bronxgirl48: Mother's Day

I treated by mom and my maternal grandmother to a screening of ROMAN HOLIDAY at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago on Mother's Day. Grandma will be 80 next month. https://i.imgur.com/SpUooRNm.jpg Gee Holden, I thought you were the other guy in your avatar. If that's your Mom, she looks fantastic. If ...

Re: Question about site function

When I log in, I always click the "Remember Me" box, which I thought meant I wouldn't need to sign in on every visit. I believe back when I used the site more, it stayed logged in. However, for the past month or two since I've been posting again, it asks me to log in every time I return. ...

Re: I Just Watched...

About the hosts: Talk, both good and bad, have been in place for ages. People at the TCM forum would give me more than a bad time. I like Eddie, except I don't watch Noir Alley. Dave is okay. Ben and Alicia, not so much. Eddie is the only one who gives me the feeling he isn't reading a script. I lov...

Re: I Just Watched...

Lonesome Rhodes is one of those come-from-nowhere performances that always astound me. I wonder where Andy pulled that darkness from? Great acting. I can understand your feelings, jimimac, about NTFS but I do think AFITC is one of Kazan's best. One never expects to see Walter Matthau as "Vande...

Re: I Just Watched...

I never get tired of A FACE IN THE CROWD (which is a good thing since they air it so much, lol) so decided to dive in again. Now, some of you might know that my recent great will power (not when it comes to Lay's Dill Pickle potato chips) concerning maintaining a calm attitude towards a certain mai...

Re: I Just Watched...

Oregon has a brothel in it! Yesterday afternoon, Hallmark Mystery showed "Trouble In Eden." (Murder, She Wrote) In the dialog, a lady said she went down to Medford. I'm suspecting the town of Eden, Oregon is somewhere near Roseburg in the middle of the state. Once again, Jessica Fletcher ...

Re: Coming up on TCM...

The film was intentionally done in B&W and the cameras would dolly back and forth instead of zoom.

Re: I Just Watched...

I've owned my favorite flick, Victor/Victoria, on every format but video cassette. I seem to recall the UA logo in addition to MGM on the video discs. Both the CED and LaserVision discs were pan and scan. Then again our TV was a CRT "square" TV as well. Our flat/widescreen TV is about 8 ye...

Of the 4 movies, "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid." His brief cameo in "The Muppet Movie." But of course, "The Jerk." Not sure what the theme is. Not his birthday. Don't remember ever seeing "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." "Father of the Bride" wasn't even clos...

Re: I Just Watched...

I have none of those services. Just straight cable tv. But MSW is on 3 or 4 channels. I only pay for cable TV as well. The above channels are free. You would need a streaming device and you have Internet. My Xfinity/Comcast TV box has a select amount of Internet services. Nothing to directly compet...
