Re: AFI's 25 GREATEST MOVIE MUSICALS OF ALL TIME

Has CAMELOT and OLIVER! been mentioned? I would have mentioned Oliver! , I actually prefer it to the other three sixties Best Picture musicals. But I thought it was British, and hence not eligible, given that it originally appeared in London, and the movie has a British director as well as a Britis...

Which director had the most "greatest performances" of an actor

Which director had the most "greatest performances" of an actor. I don't mean which director had the greatest performances, as opposed to the idea that each actor had a greatest performance in a movie, and who was the director responsible for them. Hawks and Hitchcock are obvious choices, ...

Re: AFI's 25 GREATEST MOVIE MUSICALS OF ALL TIME

The last four are hard to justify and Chicago is not a great musical. Fantasia , in my view, is the indispensable Disney musical. Aladdin, Pinocchio , even Alice in Wonderland are better choices than Beauty and the Beast . Concert movies deserve to be on the list ( Stop Making Sense, The Last Waltz,...

Re: Vietnam War essentially ignored - Again!

I can imagine why TCM is unenthusiastic about showing Vietnam War films. But every year I wonder when they will show The Thin Red Line
