Re: Series Finales

OMG!! How could I forget one of my favorites! The series finale to Lost ! I loved the show the first season and then after that, it started to go off the rails. It started to become the same old, same old. They introduced a new character, Ben Linus (a wonderful actor, Michael Emerson) and that chara...

Re: Series Finales

I really liked the finale to Mad Men and wrote about it in the 2014 TV shows thread. I know some folks who have voiced dislike with the it but I thought it stayed true to Don and the characters. My favorite series finale is probably Six Feet Under which came off a few wobbly seasons (another show th...

Re: Must-see things in Hollywood for a really short visit?

Lomm, My first recommendation is the Hollywood Heritage Museum on Highland Avenue. It is the old DeMille barn that Cecil used for filming "The Squaw Man" and has been rescued by Hollywood Heritage and turned into a museum devoted to the early years of Hollywood. My second recommendation is...

Re: Must-see things in Hollywood for a really short visit?

Lomm,

Let me put my thinking cap on! I'm sure I can come up with some ideas!

Would it be a weekend day or week day that you visit the City of Angels?

Re: 2014 tv shows new and continuing

There be SPOILERS AHEAD if you haven't seen the finale of Mad Men : After seven zeitgeist changing years, Mad Men came to end last night. From the beginning, the show had been less about the fashions, the mid-century modern trappings, the smoking, the boozing and all that comes with the boozing, and...

Re: What recent films have you seen?

Not sure it's for me (having seen one too many dystopian views of the future in my time) Moira, That's actually one of the best things about the film. After having helped establish the dystopian view of the future in the original Max trilogy, Miller kicks it up a very big notch and seems to be sayi...

Re: What recent films have you seen?

If you love George Miller films, are a fan of the Mad Max films and/or think Road Warrior is the best of the trilogy or just love action adventure films, RUN , don't walk, to get in line for Mad Max: Fury Road . Saw this film the other night at a pre-release studio screening and fell in love with it...

Re: What recent films have you seen?

We saw Fast and Furious 7 last week and really enjoyed it. We've only seen F&F 5 all the way through and only the middle and end of F&F 6, but we had no problem following the back story. The filmmakers did a really good job of handling actor Paul Walker's death in a moving tribute at the end...

Dateline- Hollywood Saturday night, March 28th Once the Terry Leonard interview at Club TCM wrapped up, it was time for us to go get in line at the Egyptian for John Milius’ wonderful 1975 adventure film, The Wind and the Lion .
