"Cheyenne Social Club" always struck me funny. Like you it was for chuckles but I've enjoyed it. A couple of scenes struck me funny were when our stars are walking done the street and Fonda wants to borrow some money just in case he needs it. They talk polictics and Fonda wants to know if...

At least The Big Chill made Marvin Gaye's "Grapevine" the song of an entire generation.

The opening scene of that movie is one of my favorites ever, too bad I can't say the same for the rest of the movie.

I liked this movie a little more then you did. I think the grimness of it really grabbed my attention. It's probably one of the better late era westerns that Stewart did. Sure it got across its themes in a clumsy manner but you still get the point. I liked the whole "is the town worth saving&qu...

I loved the movies last night on TCM. I do want to make my comment on the Mr. Moto movie. Wow that was some moving stuff. I've heard that Thank You, Mr. Moto was a bit of an oddity in the series in that they did away with the comic relief in order to tell a very serious story. The whole death scene ...

Well in the context of the movie "Hustle and Flow" is not that offensive. It's about a guy who tries to make it big in the rap/hip hop industry. Hustle refers to doing everything you can to get a leg up and flow is the flow of your lyrics and how well you can spit out the words to said lyr...

Y'know I went to an IMAX movie waaay back in the infancy of it. This was at Ontario Place and I believe it was the only place with an IMAX screen at the time in Ontario. It's an amazing way of seeing things but I don't know if i'd like to see most movies in that format. Now movies like Tranformers w...

I can't stand Charles Boyer but that's just me :) I saw First Men in the Moon (1964) and thought it was a very good movie. I'm biased as I love the "explore the unkown" subgenre of films like Fantastic Voyage. Nonetheless the movie wasn't classically great as there were some dull moments b...

I don't think it's just you. Some of the longer movies out today are that long for Oscar/prestige reasons. Now there's a movie that's in the works that I WANT to be over 2 hrs long and that's the biopic on Marvin Gaye that's going to be pitched to the studios this week coming. The scriptwriter is th...

I've seen so many people refer to "The Conqueror Worm" as Vincent Price's greatest film that it didn't impress me that much when I first saw it. I think you were a little too hard on it here, but I agree that it is by no means a horror masterpiece. I haven't seen a ton of Price's work but...

How could I forget to mention Jack Soo in Barney Miller? He made the show.
I know we're giving praise to Jack Soo here and I agree he was very good in Barney Miller but it's Abe Vigoda that made that show IMHO.

I've been wanting to see this movie ever since I first heard about it. I remember reading about it in a book about the worst movies ever and there were lots of unkind comments about Bennett's acting or lack thereof. So i'll be interested in seeing if he's as bad as it was made out to be.
