Re: *CANDIDS*
Wow, R.G. Armstrong is still with us? I wonder how his health is. Ernest Borgnine is 93 years old and still going strong. He's got several movies coming out, he does a character voice for Spongebob Squarepants and he's going to be at the TCM Classic Film Festival. Mickey Rooney is 89 and seems just ...

Re: The Adventures of Robin Hood
Before this thread fades off into oblivion, I wanted to post one of my favorite screencaps. It's a shot of Robin Hood rushing down that magnificent circular staircase on the castle set of the movie. I just love the way Errol Flynn is highlighted in relief against the grayish-brown blur of the "...

Warner's Film Noir Classic Collection
Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle! Warner Home Video is finally releasing some older movies on real, pressed, DVDs, not MOD DVD-Rs. There are some real goodies in this upcoming set, too. Noir and Forever! The Film Noir Classic Collection Volume 5 Four Must Own Double Feature Classics · Cornered / Despe...

Re: The Adventures of Robin Hood
Mrsl, screencaps are shots taken from the movie. The movie plays on my computer while I use a program to take shots of individual frames. You can set the program to automatically make the screencaps every few seconds or so (you can set the length of the interval between screencaps) or you can do it ...

This is a terrific movie -- I have it on laser disc. (Remember those?) It's been eons since I've watched it, though.

Re: *CANDIDS*
William Daniels... ahhh. I am one of those very lucky people who saw the original Broadway production of 1776 and I remember it all vividly -- especially, for some reason, Scott Jarvis' heartrending rendition of "Mama Look Sharp" and also the great emotion of the ending as the bells peal m...

Re: The Adventures of Robin Hood
Hi, Moira, I'm so glad you like the screencaps. The Adventures of Robin Hood is one of my all-time favorite movies too! I use a program called DVD Snap which I bought because I read it is one of the best for screencapping using Mac computers. There is a series of screencaps from the moment King Rich...

The Adventures of Robin Hood
Is there anyone who doesn't think The Adventures of Robin Hood is the best Robin Hood movie of all time? Much as I like Russell Crowe, I am dubious that his new Robin Hood movie will top the Errol Flynn classic. Anyway, I'm actually posting this to bang my drum and announce that I've screencapped Th...

Re: TCM Classic Film Festival (April 22-25, 2010)
The schedule of screenings and other events is now posted. I'll be tearing my hair out trying to decide what to do when more than one movie I'm dying to see is scheduled at the same time. Not to mention conflicts with panel discussions, appearances, etc. http://www.tcm.com/festival/#/events/schedule...
