Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Just once I'd love to see THE BIRDS and MARNIE without an intro or outro mentioning Hitchcock's misogynistic treatment of women, Tippi Hedren in particular (and now I've learned he also sexually harrassed Diane Baker). Last night I heard that a major theme in his movies is "the dominant male&q...

Re: I Just Watched...

Back to Perry Mason. Bette was on last night pinch hitting for Perry defending Michael Parks. (Does anyone know what his operation was about when he was out of the show for awhile? It's not a very good episode (I'd seen it before). It must've been shot around the time of Dead Ringer as she's wearing...

Re: I Just Watched...

Right now Pluto TV, The Roku Channel and Freevee Live are showing "Amsterdam Kill" on Murder, She Wrote. The Freevee app has MSW On-Demand, 6 seasons. The Amazon Prime app is needed for the Freevee live channels. I have none of those services. Just straight cable tv. But MSW is on 3 or 4 ...

Re: May 2024 Schedule Posted, Asian Stars featured

I'm getting tired of these group SOTMs or "trying to right past wrongs" SOTMs by focusing on a minority SOTM who was never really a star. There are so many stars waiting for a month that have NEVER been chosen and TCM seems to have no interest in showcasing them. Sessue Hayakawa is an Aca...

In other words, this movie STINKS! :D

Re: June 2024 Schedule Posted

In the Now Playing e-mail sent today, TCM has indicated that "Fox Stars" are being featured as the Star of the Month for Tuesdays in June. Specific film titles were listed for June 4 but the rest remain TBA. The schedule documents have been updated accordingly: http://escapepress.com/tcms...

Re: I Just Watched...

I was watching MSW on my computer screen using my Roku. Strange but true. Sitting closer to my computer than my TV, I noticed a lady being questioned at the police station. Not only was the wig noticeable, but her eyeglasses did not have lenses. A few days ago on either The Roku Channel or Pluto TV...

Re: I Just Watched...

I KNOW THE WIG and the episode you mention, but for my money- the official worst wig in MSW HISTORY appears in HANNIGAN'S WAKE (which is an otherwise GENUINELY Interesting season 7(?) episode with a good part for BRADFORD DILLMAN and the last appearance of VAN JOHNSON on the series.) they hired a 3...

Re: Noir Alley

The least Palance could've done was off himself properly like a shot in the head. Instead he goes up to the bathroom and stabs himself leaving a bloody mess all over the bathroom with the water overflowing for others to clean up! NO CONSIDERATION!

Re: I Just Watched...

LOL. Yeah, I remember that young apprentice or whatever he was. Maybe they were trying for a spin off? There were a lot of young, handsome actors, but a lot of old, ugly ones too! A lot of older Hollywood types appeared also (not big stars, but people like Fay Ray; Colleen Gray; Marie Windsor etc.)...

Re: Noir Alley

Dargo, I can't speak with any great knowledge about that blacklist era but do remember there were several actors who actually did commit suicide because they thought the accusations, whether true or not, would end their career in any entertainment medium be it stage, screen, or television. Charlie'...
