Re: Merry Christmas and other holidays of the season!
As my childhood friend is in the dining room wrapping the gifts that Jon got me (and the cakes are cooling for dessert waiting to be frosted), I get a moment to wish everyone here at the Oasis the merriest of Christmases and I hope everyone has a Holly, Jolly Holiday season!!!!

Re: What recent films have you seen?
Saw "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Friday and all I can say, without spoiling, is I can't wait to see the next one!
Missed some of the Joseph Campbell magic of the first one but am very happy with the direction of this film and want to see how the storylines play out going forward!

Happy Birthday, Lomm! Thank you for all the "under the hood" maintenance you do here at the Oasis as well as your contributions. We would be in far darker galaxy without you!
May all your birthday wishes come true!

Re: Holidays in Hollywood with Mary Mallory & Karie Bible
Kari,
Thanks so much. Joan Crawford definitely knew how to keep herself in the public eye back in the day.
For both you and Mary each, what is your favorite photo and what is the photo that got away?

Re: Holidays in Hollywood with Mary Mallory & Karie Bible
Hello Mary and Kari! Thanks so much for joining us this weekend! I love the book and the wide variety of starlets and major actors that are highlighted. Can you tell us a bit how the actors were approached to-I'm guessing it was a different approach used on up and coming actors than the pitch to wel...

Re: Q & A with James Bigwood about Alan Napier's Autobiography
James,
Thanks so much for answering my question! Did Napier enjoy working on Batman?
Also, how did he come to be in The Loved One one of the more controversial films of its day?
Thank you!

Re: Q & A with James Bigwood about Alan Napier's Autobiography
Mr. Bigwood, Thank you so much for joining us at the SSO this weekend! Like ProfessionalTourist, I first knew Alan Napier from the 1960s Batman series. I was always struck by his performance as Alfred and as i become a film buff just a few years later, I was pleasantly surprised to find some of his ...

Re: What recent films have you seen?
We saw The Martian a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. Matt Damon is quite good in the role and it is a very un-Ridley Scott type film. Well worth seeing especially on the big screen. Also, last week we saw Bridge of Spies, another good film I highly recommend. A very timely script (especially i...

Re: Bond, James Bond
"Spectre" in my opinion is certainly not the disaster many US critics claim it to be. Chris, I totally agree. I knew from various reports that the US critics were calling the movie disappointing and more but I don't read reviews before I see a film because too often even the best critic w...

Re: How are you fixing your turkeys for Thanksgiving?
Moira, Regarding the bacon we wrapped the turkey in while it cooked- once I removed the bacon to let the turkey get brown, we used pieces of the bacon in the mashed potatoes. We also saved some and had it in our scrambled eggs this morning! Our guests all seemed to love our fixings and it was great ...
