I've been sick for the better part of a week but am better now. I watched a good chunk of the Laurel and Hardy SOTS day and they were truly fantastic. I swear those guys are the standard which every comedy duo should be measured against. I was a bit worried though at times as Ollie really got quite ...

In my feverish stupor I was able to watch Tight Spot. I have to agree about Ginger Rogers. I'd never seen her other side so this was a real treat for me and I absolutely loved it. I groaned at the seemingly gruff cop falls in love with girl from the wrong side of the tracks direction the movie was h...

I believe Osborne once suffered a stroke so a few mispronounciations isn't such a bad thing in the overall scheme of things.

You ever watch a movie and it grabs a hold of you to the extent that you think about said movie and characters for the next couple days? That's what i'm going through with Monte Walsh (1970). At first I thought the movie was a meandering and boring mess but right about the quarter mark of the film I...

I plan to watch a ton of movies this week so I better document what I watched today: Shalako (1968) Sean Connery in a western? As odd as it may seem it actually happened. This movie was done during Connery's break from Bond and all I can say is it's a lot better then some of the dreck he did in the ...

Hey Chris I hope your vacation was as fun as you say it was though putting a new hat on the house is NEVER fun :)

I'm not a big fan of the grindhouse stuff but it seemed kinda odd not having your thread updated in the last couple weeks. Glad to see you're back!

Since we last spoke I've seen Good Day for a Hanging which starred Fred MacMurray. Interesting little oater. It's basically a reworked High Noon without the punch of the latter film. I read on here that MacMurray never looked totally comfortable in a western setting and I have to agree with that aft...

Re: New Version of Griffith's ORPHANS OF THE STORM To Air!

Everyone, :) Wanted to be sure to mention, TCM programmer has informed me, that the version of D. W. Griffith's ORPHANS OF THE STORM (1921) with the Gish Sisters, is in-fact the brand new Kevin Brownlow-Patrick Stanbury restoration from Photo-play Productions produced in 2004! It has not been broad...

Well I saw The Last Frontier (1955) before going off to Niagara Falls for a couple days (aside: I won $130 bucks WOOHOO!) anyways I just got back so i'm not so much into the typing mood BUT I gotta say I have a new found respect for Victor Mature. What a great role and what a great Tony Mann Western...

I watched the movie before a little trip I made afterwards. It was fairly pedestrian (sorry for the pun) with a boatload of old cliches and situations BUT the acting of the young Anne Bancroft, Peter Graves, and Farley Granger more then made up for the material. I also got a kick out of seeing Antho...

Hmm Hopefully most of the Laughton movies are ones i haven't seen. I'm too lazy to look at the schedule but will do soon and give impressions.

I also wondered if it was real or not....Even if the events didn't happen in real life I do have to say that everyone involved did a very good job of making it seem real.
