Hi,

The new baby princess has a name:

Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.....

I don't care for the Diana bit - - would have preferred Eleanor or Anne - but it's not my kid!!!

I have read that the baby is eight pounds.

That is $12.09 in American.

I agree with you Larry, I really prefer Anne over Diana any day of the week.

Thanks for the update. I like the whole name, including the 'Diana' -- am glad Prince William is remembering his mother in his daughter's name. :)

Hi,

Royalty Milestone:

On September 9th, The Queen will become the longest reigning monarch in British history.
She will surpass her great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria, who reigned for 63 years, 7 months and 3 days.
On the 9th, Elizabeth II will have reigned 63 years, 7 months and 4 days!!!!!!!!!

However, at 89 now, she does not appear to be ill, old, senile or incapacitated - and will probably go on into her 90's. Her mother lived to 102!
Personally, I hope to see her celebrate a "Platinum Jubilee" in 2022..

I am leaving tomorrow for London and hosting a champagne picnic for 19 friends at Hampton Court Palace in the Gardens there. Also, HCP is celebrating its 500 anniversary.

How delightful! I loved visiting Hampton Court. It's gorgeous. The day I went, the Royal Flower Show was adjacent the grounds. Let us know all about your fun!
Safe travels! Take pictures.

I'm happy that Queen Elizabeth II will be able to surpass her great-great-grandmother.

Hi,

February 6, 1952:

Britain's King George VI dies suddenly at his Sandringham home. He was 56.
His elder daughter, Princess Elizabeth, automatically becomes Queen Elizabeth II.
Which means that today, February 6, 2016, she has been the monarch for 64 years.

Hi,

April 21, 2016:

Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday today at Windsor Castle.
Three friends of mine and I are going to be there to watch a "walkabout" she will do from the State Apartments through the Lower Ward and out into the town.
Then, I fly home on Friday from Heathrow Airport, which is just up the road from the castle.

Hi,

Although in Britain and the Commonwealth all this weekend, they're celebrating the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II (her official birthday), it is actually the 95th birthday of her husband, Prince Philip = June 10, 1921......
Both are great, great grandchildren of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
Also, she is a great, great granddaughter and he is a great grandson of King Christian IX and Queen Louise of Denmark.
And, he is a great, great grandson of Czar Nicholas I and Czarina Alexandra of Russia.
