I've read a few of his books. Have access to more. Our local library has a surprisingly impressive crime collection.

Wasn't Goodis one of the spotlight writers during noir month? I should go look for some of his books.

That reminds me. The library has a nice hardbound collection of four or five of his books. If there's anything better than a good book, it's a good copy!

Friday, June 14, 2013. TCM showed DARK PASSAGE, NIGHTFALL, THE BURGLAR and SHOOT THE PIANO PLAYER. The novels have the same names, though Shoot the Piano Player was originally published as Down There.

Good point, Red. But somehow it seems that Goodis feels right in a 25 cent paperback original.

I very much shared that opinion when I was younger. Now? Give me something I can see!

I've made a note to get that Goodis collection from the library. Looking forward to it!

A great big HAPPY 110th BIRTHDAY to Cornell Woolrich (though if it's a happy one, it'll probably be his first).
