Starting a day after
EASTER
I will change my avatar to a totally different one and that one will be up until I change it when I do "Blood and Sand" ... and after that - I haven't made my mind up. So, I will start out with "Only Angels Have Wings" and continue to "Money Trap" recapping all the movies that Rita Hayworth has done during that time frame. It will be made up of pictures that I haven't been able to share to you because of its size - now with Shutterfly I can.

Hi, Erik, I saw new 4K digital restoration of The Lady from Shanghai on the big screen at the TCM festival -- I kept thinking of you and wishing you were there as you would have loved it. Rita really showed her acting chops as the lady leading chump sailor Orson Welles on a not-so-merry dance. Was Orson thinking of Lana Turner when he cut Rita's hair and dyed it platinum blonde? The look worked really well for Rita, highlighting her beautifully shaped ears and neckline.

That's true ... One thing about that hairstyle if I can add something here it was a masterpiece on both Helen Hunt and Orson Welles that created that look and you are right Paula, he was thinking of Lana Turner in Postman for that inspiration of the color of her hair should be ...
Lana Turner in Postman Always Rings Twice as Cora Smith
And, again ... Helen made some minor adjustments and presto ... this looks emerged! ... You can credit both Orson and Helen to come up with that look and by golly - I was shocked how glamorous Rita looked as a blonde in Shanghai and I wished that she did another movie as a blonde but Harry Cohn said NO, NO, NO ... to that. I was hoping for that and I wished I was there seeing that movie that was restored digitally and I bet it was a grand experience for you ... Thanks for sharing it.
