Hi Erik,

I meant to tell you that the Festival showed "King of Kings" (1961) this year and Brigid Bazlen played Salome in it. She does a rather weak and tepid dance that is rather sexless.
Now what they should have done was spliced Rita's Dance of the Seven Veils from "Salome" (1953) into the picture.....
Of course, it couldnt happen as you know, but it would have bulked up the picture much better.

P.S. - whatever happened to Brigid Bazlen anyway. She was no Rita Hayworth....

I remember her vividly and she died at the age of 44 in my hometown Seattle Washington back in 1965 and my grandfather was a fan of her and he remembered her dance in and he commented that was quite lame to Rita Hayworth back in 1953 when she did Salome. Her career went south after the Kings of Kings in 1961. She was a very private person and did not share much at all.

She died of cancer and she was a heavy smoker that took her life while taking care of her mother. I have a friend of mine could not believe that she was looking very frail (back in 1987 at a restaurant in Seattle) and two years later she died in May 25th 1989 at the age of 44.
