First the Bad News, Then a Rumor...

Postby ChiO » February 4th, 2011, 8:43 am

...and now Wonderful News from the Beautiful Northwest Side.

When the Bank of America announced that it was closing its branch in our neighborhood with a theater that showed classic movies on the weekends, we were saddened, but not surprised. Where else could Mr. & Mrs. ChiO have taken Mr. & Mrs. Bryce to see STARS IN MY CROWN on the big screen for $5 each? The hope was that the programmers would move to the restored, but struggling neighborhood theater, The Portage. Then the rumor started that it would move there. And now, today, this:

Gives one hope for such programming. And get a load of the ages of the programmers. Kinda gives one continued hope for the future.

Good luck to the young people. I remember seeing DeMilles The Ten Commandments at the Portage over 50 years ago. 8)
