Lynn,
The oldest commercial structure still standing is the 1901 Lasky-DeMille Barn. The 1880 Claussen residence at 6100 Winans Drive just outside of Hollywoodland is the oldest residence; it was moved and placed in its current locations around the time of the opening of Hollywoodland in 1923.

Mary,

Thank you so much for joining us here at the Oasis and sharing your love of film history and Hollywood as well as the history of the City of Angels! We really appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to do so!

Please feel free to join in the conversations both here and at our Facebook page anytime!

Just wanted to remind everyone that if you want to know more about the history of the Hollywood sign and the neighborhood of Hollywoodland, be sure to check out Mary's books, Hollywoodland[/i} and her new e-book (available on Kindle and other e-readers), Hollywoodland: Tales Lost and Found.

She also writes for the LA Daily Mirror and you can subscribe via email to have it delivered to your inbox!

Thanks again to Mary!
