And we'll all have a front row seat! I can't wait to see your TCM 2013 Retrospective!!!!!

How much longer do we have to wait? Any guesses?

Thank you ladies. The weekend's coming up. So naturally of course, the alcohol fairy will be buzzing around me when I'm minding my own business, and pouring some beverages down my gizzard. But if I concentrate, and just do each section in a concerted manner, maybe I'll have something by the end of next week. I'm no Schoonmaker, b'lieve me. But it's a nice exercise in memorializing my experience. Thank you again.

Theresa :)

They say a picture's worth a thousand words ( and Lord knows I can talk! ) So here is my video essay of my recent trip to Hollywood and TCM's film festival:

Fabulous! It just made me remember how much fun we had. Glad you were able to use that photo of Sam with Ann Blyth. I loved how you started it with Doris Day singing "Sentimental Journey" because it WAS a poignant, sentimental journey. I kept tearing up reliving the excitement, the laughs, and the tears. It's always a tough moment for me when I say goodbye to folks I might not see ever again, or folks I won't see until the next festival.

Thanks for all the joy you have shared through this sweet video!

This was beautifully--and clearly lovingly made, Theresa. I particularly liked your choice of music for various segments. Thank you for making me (almost) feel as though I were there.

You seemed to be everywhere and definitely captured many of the highlights. Weren't you exhausted afterwards?

Thank you Lynn. Ha...I cover the waterfront. Had to see as much as I could in four days. LIstening to Cari Beauchamp talk of Frances Marion brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you Christy. Doris Day’s voice evokes so much, and it was just happenstance I saw those older gents being filmed on Hollywood Boulevard one morning. It was the crack of dawn. Even in editing there’s a bittersweet tinge to that process reliving the festival. Sigh! Next year.

Thank you so much, Miss G. I do plan to. I also saw your boy, Massimo, getting a ride in a box. Poor little guy didn't know what to make of it. He jumped outta there as soon as the "ride" stopped. Ha!

Thank you Moira. Thanks for noting the music; gave that a lot of thought to try and evoke an era in some segments. Exhausted? Well...not really. In my every day life I wake up early, go to bed super late and ( since I don’t cook ) I eat a lot of junk on the run. I may be well-suited to the endurance test that is the TCM Film Festival. I hoped I captured the spirit of the festival for those who were there and those who weren’t.

You all have got to do this at least one time. There are plenty of pros here at the SSO, especially the four-timers, who can give you tips on how to make this an economical trip and not break the bank at Monte Carlo.

I smashed my piggy bank to smithereens. But I got to meet Ann Blyth. Hey...a good trade-off.
