The dog is mad at us for spending the weekend away from him (boy, is he not happy) and I am beyond tired but just wanted to drop a note to say how much fun I had with Larry's Brigade at this year's festival. I'll back with recaps once I get my land legs back but in the meantime, can't wait to see the Brigade at next year's Festival!!!! Lucky #7

We saw some wonderful films, heard some great stories from a variety of stars and a special shout-out to Ben M, whose dance card had to have exploded with the news that Robert O wouldn't be able to join us this year. Ben M did a yeoman's job and deserves all the kudos for a job very well done!!!!

I'll be back!

LARRY'S BRIGADE DINNER AT MUSSO AND FRANK'S, Wednesday evenng, at 7:00 p.m., on March 25....Image
The night before this lovely photo of Theresa, Larry, Paula, Sam, and Vickie on the Red Carpet appeared in the TCM Festival Live Photo Gallery, we all gathered for a fabulous night of wining, dining, and scintillating conversation at the historic Musso and Frank's restaurant.

Who arrived to be seated at our table? Paula, Alexa, Larry, Theresa and Joe, Sam, David, Lynn, Jon, and me!

Delicious fare from the menu and sparkling beverages made all the chit-chat flow back-and-forth like Hildy and Walter in His Girl Friday.

Image
Here Joe, Theresa, and Paula are giggling about something that's just not on the menu...

Image
Lynn and John smile and think about the surprise Lynn has for us...

Image
Lynn brought us all a copy of a book she has been reviewing! Thank you, Lynn!

Image
Paula rewards David for either sharing a secret or his entree...

Image
Larry with Sam from Florida bask in the soft glow of Musso and Frank's ambiance...

Later, I was able to introduce Larry to Monika Henreid, one of our SSO Guest Stars, and daughter of classic film legend Paul Henreid.

Thank you for a wonderful evening, Larry! :D

Could you tell us more about Rory Flynn's comments, Larry? Her attendance must have drawn a huge crowd. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I had a marvellous time at the TCM Film Festival in LA this weekend.
"Larry's Brigade" (Lynn & Jon, Christy, Alexa, Paula, Monika, David, Sam, Teresa & Joe, Glenn and Peter) dined at 'Sadie's' this year instead of 'Musso & Frank's' and had a fabulous dinner there on Wednesday evening.

I saw Gina Lollobrigida, Angela Lansbury, Norman Lloyd and talked to Nancy Olson briefly; and watched "Trapeze", "Buena Sera, Mrs. Campbell", "Manchurian Candidate", "Ace in a Hole", "Song of Bernadette" and "Keys of the Kingdom" to name a few.
The Hollywood Roosevelt was our host hotel and I had my usual room there; and ate breakfast at 25 Degrees there and ate also at the Pig and Whistle and the Hollywood Kitchen.....

Visited my dear friend Pola Negri's hand and foot prints at the Chinese Theater and again saw many, many sidewalk stars on the Hollywood Blvd.
I am so dismayed however that many stars are filthy and not cleaned regularly.

And again, met many - oh so many - old and new friends all interested in Classic Films.

Larry, I had a wonderful time at your Brigade dinner that was so beautifully organized by Lynn. We are all so lucky to be able to get together. I'll post some more photos a little later. I just got home tonight.

Glad you enjoyed yourself Larry! On my visit last year to Hollywood I too was dismayed by the condition of the "walk of fame".

Thanks for the quick recap of the events that you attended Larry and sorry to hear that the Hollywood Walk of Stars aren't taken care of - meaning they aren't being cleaned regularly and all that.

Larry, it's always a pleasure reading your recollections of the TCM festival. It sounds like you guys had a wonderful time as usual. That is a great picture of you with Paul Henreid's daughter, Monika.
Did you all manage to salute a toast to your pals here at the Oasis who couldn't make it to the
festival? (always a nice gesture).
In any event I'm glad that you all had a good time in Hollywood.

Yes, you were certainly remembered at the Festival. And, we all hoped and wished that you would be well and can carry on your wonderful work here at the Oasis.
