I'm looking forward to finally seeing THE DAMNED.LostHorizons wrote: ↑July 15th, 2023, 3:04 pmThat was actually a misprint on the part of the TCM website. The movie called the Damned which was shown was actually a 1947 French movie about Nazis escaping from Germany in a submarine called “Les Maudits.” I specificallly remember this because any time it was on I recorded it and was sorely disappointed. The Visconti film as far as I am aware, has never appeared on TCM before.cmovieviewer wrote: ↑July 15th, 2023, 1:38 pmA bit of ambiguity for this title.
MovieCollectorOH does not list The Damned (1969) as being shown in his TCM history database.
However, the archived TCM web site lists The Damned (1969) as being shown on TCM Imports late on the evening of June 17, 2012, so I did not list it as a premiere in the schedule for September, 2023.
In addition to Dirk Borgade, the movie features Charlotte Rampling (loved her GEORGY GIRL) and Helmut Berger.

I see there are still some empty spots on the schedule so maybe DARLING will air.BagelOnAPlate wrote: ↑July 15th, 2023, 3:03 pm Waa!
Darling doesn't seem to be airing as part of the Dirke Bogarde Star Of The Month tribute ----unless it's one of the TBA titles.
Understandably Julie Christie is the focus in most discussion about Darling ---- she is fantastic in the movie --- but Dirke Bogarde's performance is also amazing.
It would be a shame if it didn't.
The movie isn't available to purchase in digital (streaming) format at least not in the US.
It's only available to rent.

here's the TCM article on Bogard as SOTM:
https://www.tcm.com/articles/Programmin ... 7337r5zbzv
& it does mention both DARLING & THE DAMNED ('69)

Darling is scheduled for 10:30 pm on September 20.
TCM finally filled in the missing titles in the on-line September schedule earlier today.
(I was able to fill in these titles on my schedule web site a week ago when the TCM e-mail was sent.)

I see that THE LAST PICTURE SHOW is scheduled to air at 12:00 AM on Saturday September 23.
It's my favorite Peter Bogdanovich movie.
I'm surprised that its greatness isn't more recognized these days.

Well, one could say, TCM promotes The Last Picture Show, as well as Peter Bogdanovich too-much. E.g. the podcast featuring the director.HoldenIsHere wrote: ↑September 7th, 2023, 4:30 pm I see that THE LAST PICTURE SHOW is scheduled to air at 12:00 AM on Saturday September 23.

Hey, I'm not complaining since I view it as a great movie.

Both "Sounder" and "Meet Me in St. Louis" are fine films. Both play today.
I'd prefer "Sounder" got more time on TCM and "Meet Me in St. Louis" got less.
A little joke from my radio days: If a record became too annoying, it might fall to the floor and get run over by the DJ's chair.
It is also frustrating how TCM's website can't remember my time zone. I have to reset it each time I go there.
I'm not complaining as "Sounder" is the prime-time movie and "Meet Me in St. Louis" shows in the overnight hours.
Then again, I'm Pacific time.
