The TCM daytime theme tomorrow (Thursday, May 16) is "Film Noir of the 1940s." Each of these films has been featured on Noir Alley in the past. Here is the schedule (times are ET):

I haven't seen the ad yet. I didn't watch his last show where
he was only on for a few minutes commenting on the cases.
No doubt he has more cases. In the original series it seemed
like he worked 24/7 including weekends and holidays. One-
man homicide dept. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I doubt I will be either. The original series was okay, but a little of Kenda
goes a long way. I guess he figures he might as well make hay while the
sun shines.

I watched a few of his shows, but his persona kind of creeps me out.

Why are people posting about ID channel shows on the Noir Alley thread? Confuses me as I have never heard of these people or their shows.

I never found him creepy, just too intense. He did often have interesting
cases. What could be more noir than murders, confused individuals with
deep psychological problems who often don't fit into the surrounding
environment, innocent folks under suspicion, and the occasional femme
fatale.

I hope this does not sound like nitpicking. It really annoys me that many of these hosts naively rely on the TCM research department to get their facts correct. It's just sloppy all around imo.

I believe that Eddie writes the Noir Alley intros himself, so he gets full credit/criticism for the content. The Dark Passage intro he did this month is also nearly identical to what he presented the first time it was shown on Noir Alley back in 2018.

I'm not sure how Eddie came up with that honeymoon bit that he connected with the shooting of Dark Passage in San Francisco late in '46 or early in '47. He really should correct that part of the presentation.

I'll take your word for it that Eddie writes his own Noir Alley stuff but frankly I don't take him as seriously as I used to.

I looked at Lauren Bacall's autobiography By Myself and Then Some, and she does confirm her wedding date as May 21, 1945. Following her wedding in Ohio, Bogart and Bacall returned to California, and shortly thereafter Bacall began working on the film Confidential Agent which was released in November. Also around that time, Bogart returned to working on the film The Two Mrs. Carrolls with Barbara Stanwyck. According to the Wikipedia entry for The Two Mrs. Carrolls, there was a brief hiatus in production to accomodate their honeymoon. Although it was produced in 1945, The Two Mrs. Carrolls was ultimately held back and not released until March of 1947. Later on Bacall does confirm that she stayed with Bogart at the Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco for a month during the shooting of Dark Passage, which according to IMDB was late 1946, early 1947. Bacall says they "generally lived a quiet, newlywed life there." Dark Passage was released in September of 1947.

Why not start an ID channel thread or similar under one of the other places?
The shows don't sound "noirish" to me, just another mystery/crime embellished by a TV channel/personalities.

This week's Film Noir is a Japanese movie made in 1960 - Take Aim at the Police Van. Wikipedia says it is a modern noir to compete with Hollywood's modern noirs. Doubt I will watch it.
