Thanks for the welcome back, Knitty! I've been around occasionally, but on the mend.
Miss G.,
Amusingly, someone at TCM altered the notice at 10am to indicate that relaunch is scheduled for 11am now! Kind of like NASA updates before a shuttle launch. Maybe they should've put "tenatatively" accessible at 11am. Sorry if my previous reportage confused anyone.
Could I have a cup of joe with my helping of humble pie, please?

No humble pie is even being served---your posting was absolutely correct, they just changed it at the last minute and for those who haven't already noticed, their "launch" was a complete failure and they will be going through this exercise again! I just hope they don't lose ANY of those precious Gary Cooper posts....LOLmoirafinnie wrote:Thanks for the welcome back, Knitty! I've been around occasionally, but on the mend.

"Ignore" Button Installation
It looks like TCM will be implementing the new "Ignore" function tomorrow morning, and the board will consequently be down for a few hours. Here's the link to the announcement:

That's been requested for a long time. But how much nicer it is to have a space with people who really care about movies are keeping behavior civil than to have one where you're forced to make other users vanish.
I really try to keep up with what goes on over there, but it's just repulsive for the most part.

I was shocked to see that Hedy Lamarr was labelled a "notorious porno star" on the thread about her.
That is discusting.... Is it any wonder that I do not post there anymore....

What!!?? I haven't visited that thread in a while, I can't beleive that. Yuck.
*sigh*
It's a pity. I actually was able to get on this morning but now the board is down while they do the "ignore button" install. I posted in the thread you started, Larry, a couple of years ago on Linda Darnell, which was revivied. In it I mentioned that I just remembered having gone to a party at the home of one of the Doheney's back when I lived in L.A., and just made the connection now that it was your family. I can't remember which Doheney invited us or who I met there, but he (the "host") would be in his thirties now.

Hi Miss G,
That's great that you were entertained by one of my cousins. There are a few that I don't really know myself as I left LA in '64 and only returned to visit in '86 and '98 and 2005. But mostly I didn't see my relatives and not many of the youngest ones.
I probably wouldn't know them if I saw them on the street. The Doheny's I knew well are all dead now.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...
I've been hanging around the TCM boards this week for sugarpuss' "Back To Basics" programming challenge. The new forum format is still ANNOYING. I haven't been able to post all day. Anyone else having that problem? I read (in the technical issues forum) that a post made by Rusty took 7 hours to show up! Maybe they should have installed an "easy button."
