I've seen the color episode on MeTV too, as it's the only channel on which I've ever watched PM. The distributor withheld the color episode from the syndication package for many years, for some reason.
I don't get MeTV but I have seen it on FETV. I laugh a bit when Perry comes back with
Della to find his car stripped. What the hell.
Did they stuff twenties down the car's waistband too?

I saw it on the schedule and recorded it! (haven't watched it yet) Didn't know it was Monogram. LOL! So I know it'll be bad going in....

Yes, Monogram can certainly be counted on to deliver the tacky goods, be it The East Side Kids with Bela Lugosi, skulking gorillas, bare-bones haunted houses, shuffling zombies, or snooze-inducing Nazi agents. But of course these are the most fun to watch as far as I'm concerned.
Once in awhile they aren't half bad. Some of the bad ones are at least entertaining.

I'm waiting for TCM to air Monogram Month.

I do realize that would only happen in my (and many others) dreams.

That was a funny scene! I loved the monster cars Perry drove.......
Yeah he liked those old "yachts." Perry had a big carbon footprint and
a big footprint all around. Paul often tooled around in a T-Bird.

I bet I watch no more than 15 or 20 channels in my DirecTV lineup.
They are now requiring new equipment for everyone. It's supposed
to be a free upgrade. I'll wait and see about the free part.

Same word, somewhat different definition.

Henry V (1944) TCM 6/10

Henry, King of England, (Laurence Olivier) leads his troops against France.

An interesting version of Shakespeare's play, Olivier also directed. I may need another watch to fully appreciate it. I went in with not much knowledge of the play so I found it hard to follow at first. Usually with Shakespeare I had already read the play and am familiar with most plot points.
The costumes and the color photography are excellent here, I liked the battle scenes too. Olivier gives a more restrained performance here, I especially liked the scene where he disguises himself and talks to his soldiers.

Hibi wrote: April 23rd, 2024, 4:27 pm I have Spectrum. I've not seen FETV on it, but then havent been looking. But I get plenty of Perry on other channels I have. Maybe I've seen the color episode, but it was the B&W version.
I have Spectrum too, and until the last two weeks (when for budgetary reasons, I had to drastically cut back on the number of channels), I used to get FETV. In the past months, Perry was airing on three different channels on a regular basis.

And, don't worry, the cable company allowed me to keep TCM as one of 15 channels that I could hold onto in addition to the local channels, so I am happy about that.

I checked last night and I DO have FETV and on channel 197! Weird. I don't think I had that originally as the channel guide at installation had something different on that channel and I remember searching awhile back for FETV and didn't see it anywhere. So I think it got added at some point. It seems Perry Mason occupies around half of its daily schedule! (at least during the week).

My car would probably take up 1/2 of Perry's cars! LOL. I probably watch around 12 stations on a regular basis. Another half dozen once in awhile. The rest I never watch.

Let's not forget that they changed their name later on to Allied Artists.

Mine too, though I doubt his gas mileage was very good. FETV runs PM episodes in
the afternoon and in prime time, which are the ones I watch. And he's been on the
schedule for years. They also run Leave It to Beaver and Bewitched in
the late morning and early afternoon. They just added Highway Patrol at
7 a.m. That's bit too early to take Broderick Crawford or anybody else for that
matter.

Yes. Under that name, the former monogram did Friendly Persuasion, Invasion of the body Snatchers, Love in the Afternoon, El Cid, Billy Budd, 55 Days at Peking, Soldier in the Rain, The Pawnbroker, A Man and a Woman, Belle De Jour, Last Summer, Cabaret, Papillon, and The Man Who Would Be King.
