I admit watching the Oscars for the gowns, I truly love seeing them, but year by year, I know fewer people. This year some of my favorites were nominated but many of the 50 - 60 yr olds of my generation are quickly disappearing. The saddest part of the memoriam bit was the halting of applause when Jean Simmons photo appeared - obviously saying these young people did not know their predessors (sp.?) Anyway, one article I read said they only had a certain number of names they could use, so Farrah was dropped because she was basically a TV actress.
