I like the idea of the next king being a carbon copy of Philip, the news would never be a dull place with a King like Philip speaking his mind right, left and centre.

We know, of course, that Howard Hawks received more points than Michael Powell in the nominating round because he ended up as the higher seed. Michael Powell, however, received more nominations (11-9).* And only one person nominated both Hawks and Powell. So, if we take that one vote from Powell, then he wins 10-9.

Wow! Let's call it a day and send those Hawks voters home.

Was it me who ranked both Hawks and Powell? If it was can I have the deciding vote

Yes, it's true; Hawks didn't place on my Top 15. He would have made the cut had the list been, say, 20 or 25. I doubt that Powell would have even made my Top 50. Occupy The Polls!!! Down with voter fraud!! Recall! Recall!

Go to IMDb and review both directors works and vote from your conscience and your heart ... you maybe the only deciding vote!

Dear Itinerant Interloper,

Don't you have some essays to write or class prep to do? Actually, a vote for Floyd Mutrux accomplishes a couple of things -- a vote for a fine director and, in a roundabout fashion, a vote for a movie with a lead actor who looks eerily like the GREATEST DIRECTOR OF ALL TIMES.

Dear My Best -- and Greatest -- Friend of All Times, MichiganJ,

You've seen the evidence. Do not be beguiled by the common cinema. Reach for the Heavens.

It would appear that our once and formerly distinguished jurist has abruptly snapped
under the pressure of a potential defeat at the polls! Fellow voters: do not let the
desperate ramblings of a neophyte first-term instructor deter you from the matter at hand!

Anathema! The sweet siren song of a purveyor of falsity must be stilled
before luring others to lose their way. The true artist does not fling paint!
No, the True Artist dies for his Art.

Boss ChiO sputtered, deliriously: No, the True Artist dies for his Art.

Yes, but some, like those crafted by Hawks, do so more artfully.

I'd rather written that than flown through Hitler's legs.

The false artist dies. The True Artist dies...only to live again!
