"Double Wedding" is very wacky and I must admit that I did not enjoy it as much as LC or ILYA, but it's nevertheless and interesting comedy. I'll give it a 2nd try sometime

I would never make you choose JackaaAaay. I'm from the Ethan Frome school where I see no reason why you can't have your cake and eat it too. Have them both, my girl. Have them both. I plan to settle in this evening to a night of martinis & champagne, crooks & cracks and MGM at its sterling best. (I have personal mustache experience b'cuz my ex wore a mustache. He cut it last year and caught hell from every female involved in his life. Luckily he's let it grow back. < (Gulp!)> Truth be told, I have Ethan Frome experience too).JACK FAVELL wrote:Maven, Don't make me pick between Bill and Joe! I love them both. I love After the Thin Man , and if you are like me and really like pencil moustaches, you will think you died and went to heaven! Not only do you get Joe and Bill, you get Sam Levene as well, and then they throw in Alan Marshal just to take it over the top, moustache wise.
Mmmmmmm, yeah...I tread with trepidaciously mincing steps in the world of screwball comedy. I think I can count on one hand how many films of that genre I cotton to.MM'57 wrote:If TCM is showing "Double Wedding" I would recommend it. It's one of those crazy screwball wonders from the 30s. That is if that kind of film is your cup of tea. (With thoughts of Miss Maven.)
May I please be on your team in the next Trivial Pursuit game.JackFavell wrote:Chris, my head is full of useless information that no one wants or needs. I am only good for answering useless radio quizes and trivial pursuit arts and entertainment section.
Awwwwww. Listen, I promise...your first one will be on me.Maven, thanks for being so egalitarian about the moustache situation. Perhaps I will join you in some champagne tonight, goodness knows I could use a drink right now.
