The Critical Hits of 1930-1934

Post by myrnaloyisdope »

I just finished reading a book called Pre-Code Hollywood, by Thomas Doherty. The book is quite at placing the films of the pre-code era in a political and social context, and I would recommend it. Anyway one of the fascinating things in the book is the list of contemporary critics 10 best filmsas provided by Film Daily for the years 1930-1934. It's interesting to see what was highly esteemed at the time. Anyway I though I would list them here. They are ranked in order from 1 to 10.
