Jane Olivor.
When I met her I told her I'd spent more time in my basement with her than any woman other than my wife. She smiled.

Re: What are you listening to?
Kind of odd, but thanks to my fondness for Katherine Jenkins' Believe -last week I bought a copy of the Blu Ray release of her Arena O2 concert- I have also become enthralled by Sarah Brightman. My dad's been a fan of hers for decades (ever since the Phantom) and owns almost all of her CDs, DVDs and VHS, so I borrowed some and boom! I especially liked her Classical-Gothic "Symphony" (2008), most notably "Fleurs de Mal" and "Running"....Her Live concert in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, was an eye-opener. Will definitely be hearing more of her.

"Claire de Lune" is a lovely work of music. Too bad they didn't play it all. On a good day I can play it.

You're a better piano player than I! I never was able to get to the point where I could play different things with my left hand and my right hand.
They played more of it than I thought they would. It probably takes a long time to create one of those animations.

Re: What are you listening to?
Didn't you tell me you played an instrument? (How stupid of me to have forgotten.)
For me having both hands do the same thing is harder. There is very little were they would do the same thing though. My limited talent is what kept me from being much more of a player. (For being in a church band I'm considered quite adequate )

Re: What are you listening to?
i played the oboe throughout my school years, even learning to make my own reeds. But in my last year of high school I quit, because the teacher I had was a bit of a perv. I didn't have a huge talent, but I do consider myself musical. Had I been disciplined, I might have made an adequate musician. Again, like most everything else artistic, I'm an excellent appreciater.

I LOVE the Google page today! Clair de Lune is one of my favorite pieces of music. It always brings tears to my eyes.
I wish that I had been able to continue with piano lessons when I was young. I can only pick out enough to learn my voice part on songs.
Masha, the Russian videos were fun! I liked the crazy Via Gra song--but now I'm worried that I'll start getting ads for Viagra, the drug...
I've been listening to lounge today. I have the Ultra-Lounge series of cds by Capitol that came out in the 90's. I love tiki lounge music, too--Les Baxter, Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman. Fun!
For modern music, I listened to Lana Del Rey (moody!) and Bruno Mars this morning in the car. Bruno Mars is a great all-around performer, very dynamic.

Re: What are you listening to?
Sandy, I can pick out songs on one finger like a champ! I wasn't able to continue lessons either, and am the only member of my family NOT to play the piano. We should get together sometime and play. Maybe we could form a one finger piano band!
I love that lounge series, you've made me want to go and pull out my cd's. I especially like the Tiki one, Mambo Fever, and the Martin Denny cd. I also really like Esquivel, with my favorite of his being Space Age Bachelor Pad Music.
My daughter loves Bruno Mars, and every time she plays him I ask who it is, because I like it so much. She also just told me that she loves Lana del Rey. Time to listen to my kid!

Esquivel is fun, too! My favorite of the Ultra-Lounge cd's is Vol. 10: A Bachelor in Paris. Lots of that French concertina sound and jazzy scat singing. I love Vol. 1: Mondo Exotica as a close second. But they're all great.
I really became a Bruno Mars fan when he hosted SNL last season. He reminds me of a Sammy Davis, Jr.-type--singing, dancing, acting, impressions, lots of energy. And you KNOW how much I love Sammy, so that's high praise from me.

Sammy was an incredible talent, I don't think we saw half of what he could have done.
I'll have to check out Bruno Mars now! I had no idea he did more than sing.
