This is actually kind of difficult. Hard not to be too obvious. How about this one:

Billy Gilbert
Sara Haden
Ian Wolfe
Charles Trowbridge

. . . . . so -- who can cut it?

Nope, Moira, not that one.

Clue #2 -- If you look this cast up in one of those big film compendium books, let your fingers do the walking.

I am not going to cheat. Guessing and losing is more fun.

So, based on your alleged hint, and my guess that if Billy Gilbert was in the cast, it couldn't have been a straight drama, could it(?). So I'll take a dumb stab at something by guessing it was something made while all these actors were active...like Destry Rides Again.

Anyone else?

Ah, Miss Moira, there's the rub. Not a comedy. And I think perhaps Gilbert isn't even credited in this one, although he would certainly be recognizable to his fans.

Here's another clue

Clue #3 -- Unaccustomed as I am to playing the piano . . . . . . I'll take a stab at it.

Not getting anywhere, so far.

Let's try this:

Clue #4: The Billy Gilbert character collected autographs.

Clue #6: The beautiful leading lady of this movie, not a big star, was a damsel in distress, and really needed a hand. Or two.

Clue #7: Grand Guignol

Finally!!

Okay, try this one. It's a great cast, but a very guilty pleasure.

Thomas Mitchell
Glenda Farrell
Michael Pate
Marion Ross

I had an idea, then cheated to make sure, so I'll recuse myself.

That's okay, patful. Here's another clue:

Clue # 3: Two patriarchal figures appear together in this movie.

One would go on to television, and feed his family platitudes.

Another would go on to lead his people and feed them manna.
