Jonathan Melville, Film Buff, Writer, World Traveller...

Post by Sue Sue Applegate »

Check out the blog Scottish film buff, freelance editor, writer, and journalist Jonathan Melville writes about the Turner Classic Movie Festival. I had the privilege of meeting Jonathan at previous festivals, and he is a wonderful fellow whose interests in film keep the Scottish Highlands informed about the Turner Classic Film Festival, as well as writing film reviews for the Edinburgh Evening News.

Thanks, Sue Sue! What a busy guy. I confess to being slow as molasses about my own site compared to most bloggers/writers out there, they leave me breathless. I see he got to interview Bertrand Tavernier, how cool. Tavernier wrote a nice piece on Ford long years ago, I've always wished it could be published (officially) in English.

Thanks, Miss G. Jonathan is a talented, interesting film professional with international connections. Check out the entire interview with Bertrand Tavernier if you have a chance.

If Turner Classic Movies is your favorite cable channel, you will love what Robert Osborne says in Jonathan Melville's interview from 2011. And if you are currently employed as a producer, please listen closely:

I thoroughly enjoyed what Mr. Osbrone had to say about the state of current film politics, and what classic film is supposed to be.
