The Silver Screen Oasis

My favorite is Sleeping Beauty (1959) the animation is more elaborate and beautiful than ever. The music and songs are some of the best. And the evil Maleficent is the best and scariest Disney villain of all time.

Released October 23, 1941 (New York City).

Indeed

I did not realize that the great Carl Stalling, responsible for most of the scores of the classic WB animated shorts, worked for Walt Disney. Upon further reading, I learned that it was Disney, in fact, who brought Stalling from Kansas City to California. Stalling left Disney at the same time as Ub Iwerks, and both ended up working for Leon Schlesinger Studios, producer of the early WB shorts, and Stalling continuing on once WB took over the animation studio.
