Ya know, I never thought Connie Stevens was all that hot.

(...but I gotta admit she was lookin' pretty darn good in that clip up there, anyway)

I love Ovaltine!

I thought the scant VENUS musical numbers actually added to its charm but is almost cancelled out by the "B" comedy antics of Walker trying to escape from the detectives, which gave the film a definite low-grade juvenile aspect.
I haven't had Ovaltine in years. As good as it was as an ice cream topping,
I prefer hot chocolate to Ovaltine.

It's an unusual musical where the first song doesn't appear until 30 minutes
in. It did have some scenes that were out of a second rate comedy, but overall
it was pretty good.

I think the supposed love affair between Danny Kaye and Laurence Olivier was
more Hollywood gossip than anything else.

Scorchy is apparently available on YouTube and/or Tubi (Shout).
Never cared for Susan Slade that much and thought she ever performed poorly or was poorly directed in Susan Slade.
More importantly, how many movies have been ruined by Troy Donahue?

Troy Donahue makes movies go wrong in a fun way.

You mean like casting him as the Next Great American Novelist in Susan Slade and as the Next Great American Painter in Rome Adventure?

I do like Troy Donahue as Johnny in A SUMMER PLACE opposite Sandra Dee's Molly.

MOLLY We've gotta be good Johnny.
JOHNNY Good... Is it that easy to be good?
MOLLY Are you bad, Johnny? Have you been bad with girls?

In the right movie, Bart Hunter (Arthur Kennedy) says "Molly is merely a succulent little wench!"

With the Roman scenery, Suzanne Pleschette, Angie Dickinson, Rossano Brassi, Constance Ford and the song Al Di La, who even noticed him from the paint? Even Suzanne gave him the brush soon after. 😂

My favorite A SUMMER PLACE quote is Molly (in Sandra Dee's New Jersey accent) saying to her mother:
"Johnny's lettuhs were all I had to live for. And now you've even made them dirty."

And then as Suzanne herself here says about the great loves of her life (particularly at the 25:35 mark of the following video)...

...there was David Janssen.

(...she even gave the eulogy at his funeral)

I saw Scorchy on YouTube. Very poor quality so kind of hard to see what Stevens shows.
