Really, I long thought a movie with NAPOLEON in the title would be one based on Kevin Brownlow's book about his search and effort to get all the footage of ABEL GANCE'S epic put together.

Just for the record: a glimpse of one of the greatest movies ever made.
(Although I think I prefer the Coppola score to the Carl Davis score, though they're both great.)

They're making it a TV miniseries.
Regarding his age, Joaquin Phoenix is almost 30 years too old for this part, yes.

Joaquin Phoenix was absolutely brilliant as the Abbé du Coulmier in Quills (2000), so he does have experience playing a Frenchman of that era.
