Re: Ben Johnson

For Mary-Kate. ;) She knows why. :) Gorgeous! and thank you. :) (But she's awfully dumb today, give her a hint?) Jack, that's a really useful looking hat! Something that can double as a bucket, unlike some itty-bitty ones I've seen. Paula, what a worthy (but time consuming ) summer project; ...

Re: Ben Johnson

Very handsome man, I always liked him too. For some strange reason, it seems that he played more than his fair share of weasels/cowards (examples: Tarzan's Savage Fury, The Big Steal, Five Came Back.) Of course, as "Mr. Peacemaker hisself" he has one of his most sympathetic roles. I'm glad...

Re: Ben Johnson

Say, what happened to the rest of your message about Laramie? I lengthened it slightly, and moved it over to the what-have-you-been-watching thread where I felt it fit in better (or perhaps she didn't want to say she'd developed a Slim/Smith crush on this particular thread? ) Jack, how do yo...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?

Right now it's the Laramie TV series. I found the 2nd season DVD set at the local Walmart for $17.00 (I hate going there, but sometimes you can find something good - such as Laramie !). I have never seen much of Laramie (just the 2 Ben Johnson episodes I found on youtube) but I'm loving it now! Good...

Quote from the Warner Archive Collection Facebook page: "Yes, WILD STALLION will see the light of day through WAC. We haven't firmed up our plans yet, but it will surface sooner than later." YAY!!!!!! :) Hallelujah! (Wish I had one of those little smilies that can do the handstands and ho...

Re: Ben Johnson

Ahh, that's where Bordertown Gunfighters was hiding, I didn't think you could have missed that one. Thanks for including the links. :) I think Ben also said in that same interview that he was filmed getting off his horse and going into the office, but that also is not in the movie. And who was respo...

Re: Ben Johnson

Today's pic is another one from Grayeagle. Lana Wood looks sweetly melancholic here. Too bad that wistful quality didn't translate at all to the film itself, in which she gives an awful performance. (Sorry, Lana...) Ugh, I know what you mean. I only saw a few of her scenes when I was saving a clip ...

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare

He had a house in Beavertown, which is near to my neck of the woods. There was a front page obituary for him in the local newspaper, with warm recollections shared by people who knew him, or had met him during the Monkees reunion tours at the Bloomsburg Fair in 1986 and 1990. Here are a few excerpts...

Re: Ben Johnson

That French article was charming, the French to English translation had such an enthusiastic idiom. :) And Paula, please don't feel badly, it weren't your fault! It was that unthinking fellow who blabbed ( loose lips remove clips .) Hopefully WB will get around to putting it out, seeing as they won'...
