It's been a chilly spring here in northeast Ohio, too. Supposed to warm up in a few days. The trees are blooming, though and look so beautiful.

Ah! Two of my faves--Barbra and Shirley, sharing the same birthday.
I've been on an early Barbra Streisand music kick lately, listening on Spotify.

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I loved Lincoln. I saw it in the theatre, was not bored for one second, and loved it. I've been afraid to admit it here! It made me feel like I was actually watching Lincoln the man, not an actor playing Lincoln in a bio-pic. I see the validity to many of the criticisms made here, but that was not m...

Re: What Horror and Sc-Fi films have you seen lately?
When I saw JURASSIC PARK, there were kids running out of the theatre. Little ones, their moms hurrying to grab them. Say what you will about the movie. It sure scared those kids! Redriver, that's WHY I hated Jurassic Park! It scared the holy crap out of me! My husband (boyfriend at the time) assure...

Re: Tender Comrade
Well, I watched Tender Comrade last night, and I have to say, I didn't care for Ginger Rogers' performance. She just seemed to be trying a little too hard to show that her character was a bit of a hothead. Less would've been more here. She had many truthful moments--like the scene in the factory whe...

Re: Tender Comrade
You know, I get the "communist" angle, but what I took away from the film is that the women all living together and supporting each other was more about SISTERHOOD. At least that's how I choose to see it!

Re: What Horror and Sc-Fi films have you seen lately?
I really liked all of The Avengers films. My hubby is a huge comic book fan, so I went to the first Iron Man just because it was his turn to pick the movie--and I also like Robert Downey, Jr. I was surprised how much I liked it. I also REALLY liked the Thor film. It was Shakespearean in scope. So, I...

I recorded this one last night. I've only seen it once before, a few years ago. I do remember loving Ruth Hussey's understated performance. Looking forward to watching it again!

Re: Boston Marathon Tragedy
Erik, thank goodness your nephew and his friend are safe. How scary that must have been. Moira, I've seen the picture of Richard Martin so much these past few days. What a sweet little boy. So sad. I don't understand why anyone wants to hurt people that they do not know. Just random violence. What h...

I didn't recognize Virginia O'Brien without her usual deadpan look! Such a pretty lady.

They are definitely more than just pets. I have a very close relationship with my cat. I swear sometimes that he and I communicate telepathically! My husband thinks that's nuts. But we love our little furry dude.

Christy, I missed the "women shouldn't tap" remark. Why ever not, Cher? I love watching the graceful Ann Miller tap away! Ginger Rogers was a fabulous tapper, too.

Re: Downton Abbey
Anne--probably the reason why you rarely hear regional accents on tv is because in college, if you are in a major that may require you to be on tv (theatre or broadcast journalism) you take voice class which helps you to get rid of the "regionalisms" in your speech. I used to think that I ...

I'm sorry to hear about Abby. What a sweet doggie face. I love how older dogs get the white fur around the muzzle.
I love cats and dogs. They bring us so much joy and ask for so little in return.
