Thanks for posting that article on Matt Mattox. I didn't realize that he had originated the roles of The Jester and Harry Beaton on Broadway. Once Upon a Mattress is one of my favorite musicals.

Re: YOU Tube'n
Moira--the Sammy and Carmen album was just made available to listen to on Spotify. I did have a Carmen McRae cd with their duet from Porgy and Bess, which is wonderful!

Re: Shoes ?
I absolutely hate the baggy pants thing. Impractical, unflattering, and vulgar. The shoe fads--there are so many choices out there for shoes that I always find something that I like. I like some of the platforms and wedges. Some remind me of retro 1940's looks. Crazy high heels, though--hard to walk...

Re: Game of Thrones
I haven't watched Game of Thrones, but author George R.R. Martin was on Conan last night and he was quite delightful. Conan's show usually has clips that you can watch online if anyone is interested.

Re: YOU Tube'n
So, now I need to mount a one-woman show with SANDY in lightbulb letters behind me... thanks for the Judy pic! Fabulous. I went onto youtube last night and found some videos of Sammy and Tom singing together. Also found a wonderful clip with Tom Jones singing Sammy's hit Mr. Bojangles while Sammy da...

Re: YOU Tube'n
I got all excited when I saw that the clip of Tom Jones was from the Sammy Davis Jr. show--I thought it was going to be Tom and Sammy together...just as well, because seeing the two of them groovin' together would be too much for me to handle. I wish the frenetic go-go dancer would've been more in s...

Re: The June 2013 TCM Schedule
I recorded most of the Eleanor Parker films last night. Looking forward to seeing Between Two Worlds after reading comments here. Good cast, but the plot description just never sounded like something that I would like. Hoping to be proved wrong.

Re: The June 2013 TCM Schedule
Christy, thanks for posting the article on Dashiell Hammett. I hadn't realized what a trailblazer he was in terms of the mystery genre. Also, nice to know the correct pronunciation of his name. Can't wait for the Eleanor Parker films tonight! Hope I have enough room on the dvr. Anyone else planning ...

Re: Someone's having a birthday!
Thanks, Joe!
Believe me, Jackay, it was the most remedial baton twirling one could do. We had an old baton at home that I used to play with as a kid, so I sort of knew how to handle it, SORT OF. Did kind of a figure 8 pattern.

These are such fun! Doris Day is a favorite of mine, so of course I remember the Automat scene in That Touch of Mink, and I LOVE Radio Days. The others were new to me.
Thanks Moira!

Re: Someone's having a birthday!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! That made me smile. Chris, you are right--my birthday isn't in my profile. I can't figure out how to edit my profile to put it on there. I should've realized that was why--face palm. I LOVED the edelweiss photo! Fun fact--many people think that the Edelweiss ...
