Re: I Just Watched...

ScreenPix has been airing the 1943 REVENGE OF THE ZOMBIES, such a delightful follow-up to 1941's comedy-horror low-budget classic KING OF THE ZOMBIES. The zombie cry: "Ahhhhhhh-ooooooo!" (try it and see who or what comes forward) Mantan Moreland reprises his original role but Madame Sul-te...

Re: Noir Alley

NIGHT MUST FALL was made in Hollywood. In fact, it was Dame May Whitty's Hollywood film debut!

Re: I Just Watched...

I love the dialogue in THE MUMMY. "Do you have to open graves to find girls to fall in love with?" Karloff: "I regret I am too occupied to accept invitations"(the mummy is so polite) "Good Heavens, what a terrible curse!" "My love has lasted longer than the temples...

Re: Noir Alley

Re: the concept of a serial killer -- wouldn't that have started with 1929's PANDORA'S BOX? Then the 1937 NIGHT MUST FALL. Perhaps in the interest of accuracy Eddie will mention these two.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Oh, Frenzy's rape/murder was much more sick than Marnie's scene was, even though the one in the earlier film was grotesque. With the exception of that scene, I kind of liked Marnie. Tippi does give a wonderful performance, the score is good, and its interesting so see a different type of film from ...

Re: Noir Alley

Another puzzler with DARK PASSAGE -- someone thinks "Linnell" is an odd last name. I wonder how Bacall came up with that one? And what a coinky dink that she happens to be friends with Agnes who figures in Bogie's murder case. This movie has almost as many coincidences as a Hallmark tv mo...

Re: I Just Watched...

Ladies and gentlemen, submitted for your bad movie approval -- ONE IS A LONELY NUMBER. Kindly ignore imdb comments along the lines of "this is groundbreaking in terms of feminist cinema". Well, you know what I say to that? Horse manure!! 1972, Trish Van Devere is left high and dry by Engl...

Re: I Just Watched...

I've never seen THE STRANGERS IN 7A. Trying to wrap my head around Andy Griffith and Ida Lupino as a couple. Thanks guys for all your ONE IS A LONELY NUMBER input. It did look like a tv movie of the era -- I forgot to state that. As for Spike Lee during the FACE IN A CROWD intro, he oddly repeated h...

Re: I Just Watched...

CI, glad you cleared up that whole "walking V.D." thing -- I thought it referred to Warren William which didn't make sense to me, lol. I mean, there are a lot of other actors, both classic and modern, that it could describe. Not that I would mention any.

Re: I Just Watched...

Or --- TRILOGY OF TERROR! Actually it was Lee Grant as Alex's mother who was the real scary one. I barely recognized Jill Clayburgh as the Israeli girl. A lot of her scenes were cut. (the growing up part). Lee's? If the ones they left in were any indication I frankly can't even imagine those they c...
