I was having issues last night, so if anyone can send me the documentary and La Roue I'd appreciate it. I did manage to get J'Accuse though.

Maybe kids are less curious than I always was, and more narrow minded, but I doubt that could be of true of those who are going to embrace older classic movies. The ones who have to see something as cool or hip are probably going to to less interested anyway, so I wonder if the marketing strategy m...

Wow. This thread is... wow. I agree. We have several members on this board who are young classic film fans. When I go to the revival shows at my local theater most of the audience is well under 30. It's not like there's all that many people of any age that are classic film fans. And it's not like I...

Sweet. Dreyer was one of the master directors, in my all time top five. This is a completely captivating film. Highly recommended.

If no one else comes up with it I definitely have Mayor of Hell and I probably have Five Star Final. It might be a little while before I can make copies as the Mac Mini that's my primary burning machine is hosed and I need to figure out whether to fix it or replace it.

I could go with Woody Allen. I've never seen a Bob Hope film and I call myself a film fan 8) I'll have to rectify it, I'll rent a Road movie, any recommendations? I guess "Road To Morocco" may be the most popular but "Road To Singapore" and "Road To Zanzibar" all come ...

I'm with you in having a liberal viewpoint on what can be said (I'm an ex-journalist), but it's also important to remember that this site was started after the TCM board was overrun by trolls of all kinds. We may be overly sensitive to such things, understandably. To answer your question about who r...

I have not, and never will, without exception, battle a rule on a private forum which was enacted with a more comfortable and inviting atmosphere in mind. It isn't my forum, I've no right. I agree with this entire post except for this. You have every right to make your wishes known regarding the ru...

I agree with Bryce -- I think the profanity filters as implemented are pretty silly -- in fact, if my vote was the only one that counted, we wouldn't have them at all. It's much more important to look at context -- is someone cursing for the hell of it or is there an actual point that needs to be ma...

Mr. Brownlow, As our week with you draws to a close, I'd like to once again thank you for your willingness to spend time here. To be completely honest, it was the idea of getting you to come that was the original inspiration for the guest program in the first place. The work you have done has been b...

Like everyone else on this thread, I'm grateful and amazed by the work you have done, and owe you a great debt. I'd like to ask about Behind the Mask of Innocence . I bought it solely because you wrote it, and was completely captivated (I've read it three times). But it was a very different book in ...

I also think a lot of the negativity can be traced to the fans. I *like* Star Wars . I don't love it, i don't worship The Force, I don't have my house filled with action figures and novels, but I like the first three movies well enough. Lucas tried to revive old fashioned space opera for a new era, ...
