I think the lineup this year looks great -- a lot of actors that are not highlighted that often on TCM. I may have to break down and by a DVD recorder (the tape situation is getting pretty ridiculous!)

Klondike,

I do understand -- music is one thing that can bring me RIGHT back to that time in my life -- and I think I just remember being an uncomfortable 14 year old when I hear that song. But that doesn't stop me from singing the lyrics when I hear it!

I really appreciate you all listing little seen TCM movies on this week, since I haven't had a chance to look at the schedule. Miss G, are you a Melvyn Douglas fan? I love that little 'catch' he gets in his voice. My eyes are always rivited when he's on the screen. It's been YEARS since I've seen SE...

although I am not a Brando fanatic, I have never seen Theresa Wright in a movie that I didn't like. I'm looking forward to seeing THE MEN tonight, and will probably have the documentary on in the background before that -- and may decide to record it later this month.

I know a guy who does CSI type stuff for Baltimore MD, and he HATES CSI and it's various variations. He says the most realistic cop shows have been Barney Miller and Hill Street Blues. Next time I see him, I'll ask him why. . . I did love Cagney and Lacey when it was on. It's one of three TV shows (...

I'd like to do this, too.

I meant to reply last week, but was way too busy, and lost track of it.

Danny,

I'm looking forward to 5/3 -- there's a whole slew of Mary Astor movies in celebration of her birthday, including one with Joan Blondell and Melvyn Douglas (There's Always A Woman) that I've never seen.

You probably already know about all the Bing movies on 5/2!

Hey, I've been to Bidwell Park!! I have family living in that town! About Robin Hood -- it's a classic that's accessable to all ages, I think. It was the first 'old' movie that I saw in color, and I was enthralled. (I did grow up with black and white sets, so the newness of something in color always...

I love this movie. But, it wasn't Audrey's first role -- she'd had really small parts in things like the Lavender Hill Mob, but I think her first starring role. She could do more things with her eyes than most people with their whole face. SueSue -- I was thinking the same thing about the press conf...

JohnM, I must have seen it in the late 60's -- maybe 68 or 69. Did Mary Poppins have a similar long playing run, or was it re-released? I know I saw it in the theater, and I think I would have been a bit too young when it first came out. I used to day-dream that I'd been named after Julie Andrews (m...
