Re: Ever met a classic film star? Share your stories here!
I was so afraid that story was going to end badly! Glad it turned out the way it did.

Re: CANDIDS II
Hi Joe, I laughed to myself about the Hedda & Louella picture - as it, triggered an old memory for me - - Lana Turner telling me that she and Lex Barker had bought them identical pearl necklaces for Christmas one year - knowing that they'd probably never meet up with each other!!!! And, here th...

I'd love to hear more of that story. Jack Lemmon is one of my favorites.

Ever met a classic film star? Share your stories here!
I haven't. I met Yvonne Craig once, and I saw the skeleton of the original King Kong model. That's about it for me.
But I love hearing the stories tossed around here and there in various threads, and thought maybe it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to such encounters.

I only knew him as Sheriff Roscoe, but I loved him on the Dukes show. RIP.

Somehow I missed this the first time around. Very entertaining story of your trip. You have a way with storytelling to keep it fun.

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
The other night I watched The April Fools, with Jack Lemmon and Catherine Deneuve. It has a fantastic short appearance by Myrna Loy and Charles Boyer in some very late career work. They were by far the best part of this chauvinistic, immoral-as-only-the-70s-can-be comedy. In fact, I would even say t...

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I hate when reviewers know nothing about the subject matter they're reviewing. It's clear from reading that while he may have had some valid points, he was not familiar with Disney's version of Cinderella. The mice were not "a nod to the corporate mascot", much less "no doubt" on...

Re: CANDIDS II
It boggled my mind when I learned Timothy Dalton was as old as he is. He was considered for the Bond replacement that Roger Moore ended up getting, besides eventually landing the role in the 80s. I never dreamed he could have been old enough for that. He was also in Mae West's last film.

I always thought Hepburn should have done an Earhart biopic. She was spot on, in looks.

Re: WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I've been on a Doris Day kick the last couple of days and watched Move Over Darling and then It Happened to Jane on successive nights. I always love those things. I often wonder what Move Over Darling would have been like if Marilyn had lived to finish it as Something's Got to Give. I know it would ...

Re: What recent films have you seen?
I consider pre-1990 no longer "recent", but then I think about Jurassic Park being over 20 years ago and think I should bump it up to 2000.
