I really must see more Valentino movies. I'll never forget the huge impression he made on me as a young girl, when I happened upon his Son of the Sheik on television one night. I think that was my first exposure to that particular flavor of exotic eroticism. Such themes were really the vogue in the ...

I finally got ahold of The Bitter Tea of General Yen recently. I've not watched it yet, but I am very much anticipating it. Alot of folks claim it as their favorite Babs film...so needless to say, I'm 'intrigued'. It would be hard to beat Ball of Fire though. The more times I watch that film the be...

Oh man! I'd LOVE to be there. I mean, I'd really LOVE to be there! Babs is my favorite actress, and this would be a simply awesome experience. I'd love to watch some of her films with other Babs fans and meet some cool folks. And no...the red lettering on the films with Coop was *not* lost on me. :...

Great news, if anybody is in the New York area April 25 - May 6th (and I will post this elsewhere so Stanwyck fans will be sure to see it), The Brooklyn Academy of Music is putting on a series of screenings to celebrate Barbara Stanwyck's centennial, and included are Ball of Fire and Meet John Doe!!...

You know, looking at these to photos, you do see some resemblance. I wouldn't say they looked exactly alike or anything...and certainly in other photos they look quite different than this in any event. But certainly there is enough resemblance for them to have been related. I wonder then, why I don...

I love the scene at the dance, the way Ford introduces the former Indian captive girl and the reactions of all the guests. He makes his point, alright. Superb stuff.

This is one I can't understand why people don't use it as an arguing point when discussing Franks' acting abilities. He's so sympathetic to Shirley through it all while actually disliking her. However, I do wish he had removed that stick in Martha Hyers' you know what, before the end of the movie. ...

Wow, I had no idea that the public would be voting on it! I was thinking of entering but now that I see all the creative energy going into the presentation of the spots, I would be way outclassed! It would take me forever to get it to look like I wanted it to, and all I could come up with in less th...

That rumor about the documentary sounds promising. If sales on Ford's films with Wayne do well this May for the centennial, then maybe they will feel encouraged to go through with future releases. I've never seen The Iron Horse, either, or Three Bad Men so a silents box set would be gold.

I voted for The Far Country. It's been a favorite movie since I was a kid and I just wish I could see it on a big screen. I think all the others are great, too, and if I had to choose #2 it would be The Man From Laramie because I love Donald Crisp, Aline MacMahon and Arthur Kennedy.

LZ---I really, really enjoyed reading your comments on your favorites. I find Ribbon , Valance and The Searchers three of Ford's most emotional wersterns... Valance in particular tears me to pieces. Every time I see a cactus rose.... One thing I am determined to do is to eventually see The Sea...
