New Kickstarter: STRANDED (1927)
Just a note. My new Kickstarter for STRANDED (1927) has abut a week to run. Shirley Mason stars as a no-talent girl from Iowa who heads to Hollywood to be a star. This drama by Anita Loos takes a look at the downside of "going Hollywood," you, know, what happens to the girls who don't make...

Re: Oppenheimer (2023)
Looking forward to seeing this one. A lot of local filming in Los Alamos, where I worked for more than 10 years. Apparently a lot of the exteriors were filmed on a set at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu (think George O'Keefe).

If THE FLASH doesn't kill off TCM, then Warners upcoming stinker BARBIE will.

Still no news that I've seen that says who's replacing Tabesh or who is going to be in charge of programming new films.

Re: TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES NEWS
The two "producers" named to head TCM, DeLuca and Abdy. It is said they will CURATE and that TCM will not be their full-time responsibilities. Sounds like they will not be PROGRAMMERS because there is no budget to license any new films.

Re: TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES NEWS
Are there other outlets for your efforts, Dred? Somewhere else you can monetize this? It seems like important work to me, preserving our heritage. I've been placing projects with various film festivals and venues. Kansas Silent Film Festival, Museum of the American West, Capitolfest in Rome, NY and...

Re: TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES NEWS
I had five of my projects licensed to broadcast on TCM, dating back to 2014. After 2021, however, I got a consistent "no budget for silent films" response. I never blamed Charlie Tabesh; he was always very nice and very supportive. It's because of him we finally got a Star of the Month sal...

Re: Mary Astor
I've placed two Mary Astor silent films with Capitolfest for their August tribute to Astor. Both 2-reel films were shot in Augusta, Maine in 1921. Brother of the Bear and My Lady o' the Pines star the 15-year-old Astor in her first films ... in starring roles

Re: Marion Davies on TCM
They ran out of films they have licensed. The license for Enchantment (1921) ran out in 2021. They never licensed Zander the Great (1925). They also never licensed Getting Mary Married (1919) or The Restless Sex (1920) or my restorations of the incomplete April Folly (1920) and Buried Treasure (192...
