I have the Ford at Fox set and my favorite films so far are:

The seas beneath and
Pilgrimage

I have not watched too many of the films yet but I really am enjoying the set!!!

The reproduction of the programs are really cool.

I love everything about the set. I am glad I have one.

I wish TCM would have Harry Carey, Jr and Robert O do a month spotlighting Carey, Sr's films ala what RO did with Bill Wellman, Jr. I could even go for a couple of nights of spotlighting Harry, Jr's Ford films as well with Carey there talking to Robert O. I understand he did the latter a few years ...

Escape me Never

This is a great drama starring Errol Flynn, Ida Lupino and Gig Young. This is a story of two brothers, two women and a funny misunderstanding in the early 1900's of Venice. Here is the plot summary from IMDB.com: It is Venice, 1900, and Fenella is engaged to composer Caryl Dubrok until she hears tha...

Alton's films were the worst of the lot. Who as a guest programmer plays all films from the 60's!?!? DID you know that this guy actually had the gall to say to Robert that he wanted to take over his job when he retired!?!?!??!?! How disrespectful can you be. This is inside info by the way from peopl...

So Well Remembered is a great rare film. I taped it onto VHS from TCM years ago and I still can remember Robert's great commentary for this one. It is a good, over looked movie.

Thanks it is nice to be here.
I love phbb forums like this.
The set up is better than the fancy one at TCM.

I am glad there is somewhere else to post besides TCM.

They Died with Their Boots On is one of my favorite Flynn films of all time. It was one of the first films besides Robin Hood of Flynn's that I saw. It is a great, great picture. Olivia and Errol are beautiful together in this picture. The film also has one of the best titles for a film ever. - kpr

That is really funny how you called the film Death of a Gunfighter instead of Invitation to a gunfighter because originally the thread was going to be about that Richard Widmark western but when I typed in the subject I put "Invitation" instead of "Death of". That is so crazy and...

Invitation to a Gunfighter (1964)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058238/ This is a great western starring Yul Brynner and George Segal. I am a huge fan of this movie and own the DVD. There are some very funny moments in this picture. Once again The Westerns Channel gives this film good rotation. http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n15...

I love this movie and cannot believe that it is not on DVD yet!! Thank god for Encore's The Westerns Channel because it plays Two Rode Together a lot. I love both James Stewart and Richard Widmark in this one. It is really an amazing movie and one with a history lesson within it. A DVD release is ba...

I need to see this film. I love Robert Montgomery and Chester Morris. Somehow I missed this one when it played on TCM. I must have been traveling. I am currently working on a Robert Montgomery painting using clips from the Now Playing Guides and the internet. I actually have a scene from the Big Hou...

Kirk Douglas just shines in this movie. This was the movie that definitely solidified his career in Hollywood. There are so many raw parts of Kirk in this movie. I can see hints of his films to come in his performance. He has always been one of my all time favorite actors. Arthur Kennedy is also ver...
