Re: WHAT FOREIGN FILMS HAVE YOU WATCHED LATELY?

I have rewatched two Ealing comedies recently- The Lavender Hill Mob and Passport to Pimlico. I hate to drag in current events but can anyone else see a similarity between Passport to Pimlico and current goings on in Gaza? The residents of Pimlico neighborhood wish to become independent based on an ...

Re: Saturday Mornings on TCM

I liked the Karloff B movie last week. Agree with you about the cartoons. Don’t care for them but love the travelogues.

Re: Vietnam War essentially ignored - Again!

If they showed Vietnam movies there would be so many asking why they’re showing newer movies. There is no pleasing people. True, however I have noticed TCM showing a lot of post-studio era films of late, and not that I think there's any problem with that. And now for one more comment about that sor...

Re: Vietnam War essentially ignored - Again!

There are older Vietnam war movies, such as China Gate (1957), Flame over Vietnam (1957) and The Quiet American (1958). 1978's Go Tell the Spartans (Burt Lancaster) is one of my favorites. TCM is also showing a goodly number of fairly recent movies of all types these days, so going back to the 80's...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???

Just saw a new promo for Noir Alley (as if they didn't have enough of them) -- with Eddie Muller wearing some kind of 1940's camel hair coat, walking the streets of Frisco looking "tough". So silly and frankly tiresome already imo. Forgive my ignorance on these matters, but don't all thes...

Besides the main stars, Chevalier and Macdonald the rest of the supporting cast has been replaced with French actors. Edward Everett Horton is replaced by the pudgier, balding though ...
