Re: I Just Watched...
Did you go to Warren G Harding Elementary School? Yes from grades 2-8. Grades 7-8 were in the same building that Shep used; grades k-6 were in a new brick, 2-story building across the street. At that time, it was the largest grade school in Indiana. Since I lived less than a mile from the school, h...

Re: I Just Watched...
The movie changed the locale to Cleveland - ironic in a way 'cause his childhood home was on Cleveland St, but in the Hessville section of Hammond, Indiana. The movie A CHRISTMAS STORY was filmed in Cleveland, but it is set in the fictitious Hohman, Indiana, substituting for author Jean Shepherd's ...

You'd think that since the author, Jean Shepherd, grew up just a couple of miles from where I did, that it would appeal to me at least on some level. Nope. I even we...

And the biggest aspect that "regular" wage earners don't understand is the constant/sporadic nature of the actual work. There's a lot of us you may think of as "regular" wage earners that aren't. Contract workers, temp service "employees" and farmers are a few examples...

I always like to watch the CBS Saturday Evening News anchor, José Díaz-Balart, just for his closing line: "Thank you for the privilege of your time". He's on NBC now on wknds or fill in nights. He still says that! You're right. Don't know why I typed CBS - must have been the Walter talk. 😆

I think I got lost here. Who is Paula and what's the show you're talking about? Thought at first it was Paula Prentiss because of the Henry Orient bits, but then after the CSI mention, thought Paula Newsome, but that doesn't seem right either.
