Re: I Just Watched...
MARY CURRIER played the role, it wasn’t necessarily overtly lesbian, but her character had a “possessive streak” over Martha Vickers, I thought (which figures into the plot) https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TXONo2BGieA/VCNExiCP8FI/AAAAAAAAN7g/-k5YwBbaHMc/s1600/Mary%2BCurrier%2Bin%2BThe%2BFalcon%2Bin%2BMe...

Re: I Just Watched...
all right, okay, so I watched THE FALCON IN MEXICO and I see where the admiration comes from. https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.N2iGp8w8RK0v98hXt6zdfwAAAA?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain You hear that SUCH-AND-SUCH MAIN CHARACTER GOES TO MEXICO and you instantly expect MEL BLANC doing SLOWPOKE RODRIGUEZ** and ...

Re: I Just Watched...
Watched Callaway Went Thataway this morning. Very entertaining movie. One interesting aspect is that on the train trips they actually used shots of different railroads to depict different areas of country. In far too many movies, they just pull out clips of a train - any railroad. It also reminded m...

Re: The Falcons on Saturday mornings
Just a reminder that The Falcon in Mexico is on tomorrow (June 15) at 10:07 AM. I think this is the best of the Falcon movies. Good locations and story with some nice acting. Even a little singing.

Re: I Just Watched...
i might catch heat for being nitpicky but... I know why LAMONT CRANSTON was called THE SHADOW I know why SIMON TEMPLAR was called THE SAINT (his initials) and I applaud BRITT REED (aka THE GREEN HORNET) for incorporating the characteristics of the animal from which he took his moniker into his &quo...

Re: I Just Watched...
this blew my mind. I watched THE FALCON GOES WEST this weekend, and it was fine- surprisingly long and complicated for what I have to imagine was a "B SERIES" at RKO- but then, ALL the FALCON movies are kinda long and complicated. THE WOMEN in the cast were all FINE AS HELL- and there was...

Re: Banned for Trolling
I've always found it somewhat humorous that a guy known for urbanity and sophistication had the name Cole Porter. Huh??? :smiley_huh: I assume that means someone that carries coal, who would be from a state like West Virgina. (but I'm just guessing). Actually I was confused as to why someone would ...

Rome Adventure, June 09th
Rome Adventure is being broadcast at 3:30 or 3:45 Sunday, June 09th per TCM Schedule. This is a really good movie and Suzanne Pleshette is excellent in it. If you can get past Troy Donahue. Angie Dickenson is also very good as "the other woman." Then there is Rossano Brazzi. Of course, th...

I agree with the debate about emoji. I post in obits. I guess like is close to Thank You. It's sad news but I appreciate the acknowledgment. I don't know if I'm getting banned. I can't find some of my posts. Top-billed is a liberal. Funny how both extremes stop opposing viewpoints I tried to post i...

Red Ball Express
The Red Ball Express will be on Thursday, June 6 at 2:00PM(ET). This may be the only movie made specifically about the contribution of the US Army Transportation Corps to WW II and the wars since. It also highlights the contributions of African-American soldiers who were assigned to support rather t...

Re: I Just Watched...
I love Paula Prentiss and Rock Hudson in Man's Favorite Sport. Saw it for the first time on broadcast television back when some channels were Independent. The music in American Graffiti was great and so were some of the cars. Then again "Toad's" Vespa. My wife and I watch Man's Favorite S...

I was going to post about Janis Paige yesterday, but got fed up being banned! What longevity! https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/03/theater/janis-paige-dead.html https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/janis-paige-dead-silk-stockings-pajama-game-1235914085/ Thanks. Re: I Just Watched...
If you want to see a good Bob Hope and Lucille Ball movie, watch THE FACTS OF LIFE. Not CRITIC'S CHOICE. Bob Hope was more a comedian versus an actor. I may have missed him playing a straight unfunny part. Wouldn't expect it. Lucille Ball was funny without trying. Yours, Mine and Ours would have be...
