Re: Noir Alley on TCM

New Topic, Noir Alley works and is on the list under TCM on the Board Index page, Unfortunately all the comments up to this point are still under Noir Alley on TCM. Still trying to get used to how this site works. But appears Noir Alley under TCM on Board Index page would be the place to go to discu...

Re: Finally here, hooray

Welcome to each and all. Appears we are not only building the membership here, but increasing the activity as well. A win for us "transfers" and a win for SSO and its existing members and administrators as well.

Noir Alley Dec. 10/11

The feature this week will be Walk Softly, Stranger (1950) with joseph Cotton, Alida Valley, Spring Byington. Comes on at 12:15 on Saturday night. The posts from the other Noir Alley sites did not migrate. But if we focus only on this page it should correct itself in the future. Apologize for the co...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

I created both threads inadvertently. I created one under Crime and Film Noir before I discovered a TCM section on the Board Index. Leaving both accessible will be confusing. Recommend that one under Crime and Film Noir be combined with one under TCM. Also, that on the Board Index page, Noir Alley ...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

Just a note to say that I am not sure the threads can be combined. I think we would hesitate to delete one for the other with comments in there that might be lost. I would be more inclined to think one might become the primary thread for it. Lomm is the expert on all technical things but will see w...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums

So glad I didn't join that one now, I was watching to see where any of those Off Topic Political posters were going and I was going to avoid that site I believe both of them are here as well, but hopefully will leave the politics on the other board. I belong to both sites. Top Billed is trying very...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums

Just perused the site recently created by a TCM ex-pat and noticed many followed him and some are on this one as well. All well and good, but I also noticed that two posters from the highly politicized TCM Off Topics have already posted very political comments on the other site. Probably won't sign...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

I believe Eddie pointed out in his outro that the Metholene Blue would not have resurrected a body. Apparently it was to be used immediately if someone was exposed to the gas. I think Eddie thought of her as the worst femme fatale because she had no redeeming social value, unless you count looks. Fr...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

"Decoy" was pretty crazy. I'd never seen it before. I don't think that I've ever seen a plot that involved reviving someone who was executed. Jean Gillie's character was certainly ruthless. I kind of like the fact that there was no romance subplot shoehorned in. Jean Gillie used every sin...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

Can we not have the moderators delete one of them? I requested that they have just one under the TCM section on the Board Index page. I think it is as significant as having one for The Essentials. Maybe they don't do anything on the week-ends or else it takes a while. Just waiting to see at this po...

Re: Noir Alley on TCM

I started this thread before I discovered there is a section for TCM on the Board Index. So, I started one there as well. Hopefully they can combine the two under the TCM thread as that seems more appropriate.

Re: North by Northwest -- Spy Thriller

Probably my second favorite Grant picture with Mr. Blandings being number one, but it is close. As for the train, it was probably a studio set except where they were walking away from the train at the station. Most trains are actually not as wide as Hollywood presented them. I believe Murder on the ...
