Re: Oppenheimer (2023)
I know there has been some controversy about Christopher Nolan's artistic decision not have his actors re-record dialogue in post production. Apparently, it's something he's never liked to do, preferring to keep the sound that was recorded at the time the performances were given, even if some of th...

Re: I Think This Is Funny
LOL Who knew Vince Vaughn was so dang funny?! Gotta admit, I didn't anyway. (...and here before I clicked on this thing, I started debating with myself as to if I should even bother to tell you that I've NEVER thought Jimmy Dore was one bit funny or incisive or insightful or even entertaining...gue...

Re: Kevin Spacey Found Not Guilty - Accusers Were Lying For $
I've found it ironic that the the past few years we've had both the collective exhortations to "Believe all women", and an acclaimed film about Emmett Till.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
I had the misfortune of looking at 1966's An American Dream on demand on the TV. Such a bizarre, uncomfortable film, with more bitter hatred and sadism in its first half hour than most films had had up to that time (OK, Lady in a Cage had more, but still), followed by 75 minutes of torpor. But I'm ...

THE COBWEB -- Staff and patients at a private psychiatric clinic (for "nervous disorders") obsess over their private lives and library drapes. Ridiculous soap opera also features Oscar Levant in hydrotherapy, something you've always wanted to see. And is there anything more annoyingly sel...

Runaway Daughters (1956). Z-grade juvenile delinquent picture from Samuel Arkoff and American International about three high school girls, each from a broken family but in a different way. John Litel and Anna Sten (!!) spoil their daughter and are even wilder than the daughter, the daughter's boyfr...

And yet you think everybody would be happy to pay the same exorbitant amount you would for Streaming TCM.In the end, this is where streaming tries to get the subscriber to pay extra for ad free.
(I won't pay for Spotify without commercials. Instead, I no longer use it).

I have a friend -- an English woman who settled in NYC many years ago. She worked in the WTC and fled, only to see it collapse behind her. She was so shaken, she had to leave NY. She purchased a house in the remotest part of New Mexico. She sent photos of javilena, which I had never heard of, up to...

It's nice to see I can use the name of Scorsese's co-programmer here; it was censored on the TCM board! Haha reminds me of when I first met my in-laws: The neighbors to the east last name was Cox and on the west side lived the Dix family. I said, "Haha You're surrounded by Cox & Dix" ...
