Re: Noir Alley

The least Palance could've done was off himself properly like a shot in the head. Instead he goes up to the bathroom and stabs himself leaving a bloody mess all over the bathroom with the water overflowing for others to clean up! NO CONSIDERATION! https://youtu.be/vbF_MEsULCY?si=mQ0fYmepVFLgKU2b&am...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

I hadn't seen Rebecca in a long time until it was on TCM a while back. It's a rather silly though fairly enjoyable as entertaining fluff. And suave George Sanders chowing down on a chicken leg. Both the leading men of Rebecca and Marnie are kind of jackasses. Larry goes to pieces at the least littl...

Re: I Just Watched...

Au hasard Balthazar (1966). Parallel stories of donkey and French village girl each suffering unrelenting cases of "sh!t happens". This is one of those movies where I wonder what the critics who select the films for lists like the Sight and Sound all-time lists are smoking. It's not a bad...

JAWS (1975) Are there different cuts of this film? Does Mrs Kintner slap or spit?
Or swallow?

Your 1999 selections aren't pretentious arthouse films.

Truthfully, Shearer and Howard both give marvelous performances in the 1936 version.
What about Andy Devine and Edna May Oliver?

Re: I Just Watched...

I've seen the color episode on MeTV too, as it's the only channel on which I've ever watched PM. The distributor withheld the color episode from the syndication package for many years, for some reason. I don't get MeTV but I have seen it on FETV. I laugh a bit when Perry comes back with Della to fi...

Not quite at the level of Patti Labelle and Michael McDonald, however:
